ok guys I got everything the way I originally planned on getting, having the rear button instead of aux and the worn buttons are now replaced...I swapped parts around and happy I found out how to do this...so now if you need any parts for yours, I have a new 2009-11 AC Controller and face plate, with 2007-2008 Buttons...Here are the pics I took if anyone else wants to swap there 07-08 to newer buttons...just find a cheapy one that doesnt work buy it and take the buttons....

Get an allen wrench (dont remember the size) and unscrew the 4 screws on the back

Use a flat head screwdriver and pop off all 8 tabs of the face plate, 4 on each side

Next seperate the back of the module from the buttons/faceplate using the flat head to push the tabs down and pull apart

then it will look something like this

From here on out, you can pick and choose what you want to swap out, you can see i popped out one set of the buttons but I ended up swapping all the buttons...

Here is the finished product installed...same 2008 module, with 2011 buttons

I still have the new module/controller with the old buttons, if someone wants it for super cheap let me know...if you have buttons to put in it, it will be good as new and will show the exterior temp in the middle...

Screen will look like this when powered

Hope this helps anyone that ran into my same problem.

Later,
Ryan

Good job Brian, and hopefully this info will help someone else.

I know it cost a little money but money is nothing compared to ocd induced panic.

I'm with you bud. :D

Haha dont worry people call me Brian all the time, I guess Ryan is not a good enough name lol. And yeah without my OCD this never would of happened, most people would say $140 is too much to spend for buttons haha but I don't care cuz now my interior looks great (to me)...

Had an 07 Yukon SLT. Brought it in because the HVAC wasn't working properly, got it back from the shop claiming reflashing the software fixed the issue, but all of a sudden i had the temperature displayed in the middle like yours (and in the upper right hand corner of the unit). They sometimes varied, but always straightened themselves out after a little driving. Took it in again because the HVAC still sucked, got it back and the temp was gone from the lcd. HVAC still didn't work worth a crap lol.

Yeah I figured it had to be a programming issue once I took both of my AC Controls apart...I could tell the ext. temp could be displayed on my old one as well just wasnt programmed that way...in fact the picture I have of the control taking apart of the screen is the old one and you can see that the ext temp could be shown I assumed if programmed.

I would of rather taken it apart like I did than taken it to the dealer and getting ***** to reprogram it lol.
