Anyone ever see or do it themselves of replacing a yukon xl front with a suburban? i just like the look sooo much more, especially lifted so thinking of swapping the plastic if it is feasible thanks
could it be done-yes, but you'd have to find a very reasonably priced donor for the parts. you'd be looking at front fenders, headlights, grill, bumper, and associated parts to make this work. you could bounce the P/Ns off of a GM parts website to see all of the different pieces to make it happen.
Buy a used clip. Or if yours is in good shape, talk to a junk yard about selling them yours for a Yukon front / pay the difference so they come out ahead. Fenders, hood, headlight mounting panels, headlights, park lights, grille, complete bumper. Plus paint of course and depending on what color it is, detrimming and blending the doors to match. Then you'll have a GMC with a Chevrolet airbag, key, VIN, and title
Thought this was for 00-06, misread where it was. No park lights, no HL mounting panels. Regardless... Too many parts to make it worth it. And if / when you sell it you get the joy of selling a GMC with a Chevy title. They'll think it was wrecked or something.
i just didnt know what all would be involved. oem tires are about to go bald so I am at that point of new wheels/tires and what to do...lift/level, just go as cheap as possible and see if once the kids are past 10 or so if they wouldnt mind jumping up into a truck (would love a 2500 diesel but am i going to have anything to tow?) and sitting next to each other in the back (god forbid). too many options. and really would hate to have one little thing go wrong with a lift and then feel like i just threw $3k down the drain.
