Z71 body hardware on Yukon XL?

Can you do it? I am looking at a Yukon XL, but I wanted a Z71 burban with the body hardware and its protection because I live on a dirt road.

you can! it should be a pretty simple swap.
now getting ahold of the peices on the other hand......thats a diffrent story

Yes, you can add it. You will need a lot of parts though. Including these brackets and fasteners that go behind the cladding. Looks like you would have to drill some holes too.

If you do this I would look into gatorback at the same time. You dont want grey trim, trust me. You will also not want to throw it on, realize how lame the grey looks and have to wait for your valance clips from LMC (buying them twice because they dont just pop off) to come in the mail before you paint it. Nip it in the bud

I had to replace mine cause the previous owner removed, I was lucky and after a year of looking found all the hardware to do it. Fair warning to you (cause mine already had it done from factory) be ready to drill a ton of holes into your truck. The bottom rocker guard bracket had something like 12 holes on each side, all staggered. That doesnt include the holes in your rear quarter panel and fender flares.

I am also looking about to purchase a 2012 Yukon XL 4X4. You should know that they now offer the Z71 package on the Yukon XL. I did not even know they offered it until I found one. The wheel flares, tubuar assist steps, and chrome grill are included. However, you can find them with the basic black grill with chrome bezel. I found one of those, and they are adding the chrome grill and fender/wheel flares for me before purchase. It is a very nice truck, and seems to be extremely rare. You cannot even find a picture of one or any mention of them on google! Anyway, they do make them now with all the stuff included on the Chevrolet Suburban Z71. I prefer the front fascia of the GMC Yukon XL, plus I am getting a good deal on it. Hope this helps. Some dealers aren't even aware that they are available! Crazy, but very true. Believe me, I called around. Good luck!
