Thanks guys, that helped me figure this out. Not sure why im making it harder than it really is. Appreciate the help though.

One more question that i know has been asked a thousand times all over the place, but whining from the front speakers, i cant remember is that from the rca's or a bad ground? My rca's arent running w/ the power wire either, power is on left side, rca on right side.

thanks

Cheap RCA's are not a great idea and can cause interference, best thing to do is swap them out with another known good set and see if that eliminates the whine or even run them a different way in your truck temporarily to see if that helps!! Usually though, it's a ground problem in my experiences!
I still think you are a dog though, that's a nice stereo!! :peace:

Its not the cheap rcas. I have jl and RF ones. I'm going to go with ground. Now is it the radio ground or the amps ground?

And well ha ... its mine... ha ha

LOL.. thats funny. If you find out what it is, please let me know, im going to taclke it this weekend. its driving me nuts. It didnt do it until i put this new radio in. So im thinking its the radio ground, b/c it had end on the neg. to bolt to a ground.

But let me know. otherwise, this radio does it all. Love it.

Did you say you found the appropriate reverse trigger wire in your truck? The one that doesn't flash on when you lock/unlock the truck?

Yep, thanks to omars post. Exactly where he said. Works only when in reverse, not when unlocking or locking.

Even easier, you can just hit the reverse wire at the BCM, blue plug, gray wire A8. This wire gets 12V with reverse, but NOT with the perimeter lighting. No need for extra relays or ignition wiring.

I should emphasize that my info for 03-06.

Kevin-Bannanahands, did you mess w/ your ground yet? I redid mine, but still have feedback. Not as bad, but still annoying. Tired of tearing it out and in and out and in.. Wondered if you found a good spot or if anyone knows a good spot for a ground for the radio..

Sadly no not yet, I had some other projects that took priority, hopefully I'll have time in the next couple days to get to it. I'll post as soon as I do.
