Hey i did this mod a little while ago. Though id share a vid of what it looks like charging up. I also removed the 10ohm resistor that came with the g4. It didnt supply enough resistance and sometimes they would flash fast. So i Replaced them with a 6ohm resistor. Problem no longer Present

When you replaced your resistor, did that get rid of the problem where the tails alternatively blink with the mirrors when applying the brakes with the turn signal on?

Great job...have a write up on this? what brand did you us?

i used autoluminations kit with Phillips 6k h11 bulbs. Its fits in, but it not perfect. I siliconed the bulbs so there is no moisture gets in. I followed this link for the idea, But instead of using spade taps, I cut off the Reverse Bulb socket becuase i didnt want to have a open socked that energizes in reverse. Doing so left leaving me just the Power and ground bare wire. i then cut off one end of the harness opposite to the Side that plugs into the ballast. Stripped the ends of the wires. I then used a crimp connector that had a heat shrink tube built onto it. i then proceeded to use another Heat shrink sleeve that covered the Crimp connector to ensure no moisture get into the connector at all. Mounted the ballast and Load resistor behind the lens assembly, connectors facing down so no water can make it way into the Ballast connector and sit there risking premature failure.

I dont have mirror signals. My problem was it was the right side only did that. I noticed if the Truck wasnt charging at least 14v on the Cluster, the right would flash Fast. When it was happening, i could raise the rpm to bring up the volts and it would stop. The 10 ohm that comes with the g4 isnt enoungh. After i switched to a 6 ohm Problems gone. I Bet if you swap out that resistor, your problem would be cured.

i thought about that, but i thought if I did that, I may abuse that switch. Also if someone used that on me, blinded me and caused me to crash, you bet that plate number would be the only thing i remember before crashing

Thats great, us OBS have a resistor plate where all three bulbs plug into. Cutting part of the resisitor out would **** up our lighting. Our Only Option if mount lights under the vehicle.

Sick mod though, one of my favs!
