I am going to step down from 22s to 20s. Want to go with a more aggressive thicker sidewall tire and lower offset wheel. What I would like to go with is a 20x9. What et is recommended for a 305/50 on a stock suspension? Or would an alternative size work better for a wheel of let's say...et18 as place to start.

Here's a couple of pics of 305/50/20:

A hair of a rub up front when truck is heavily tilted to one side like turning into a driveway, but almost nothing.

Yup, the OE wheels are either 30 or 31. I think you'll be fine. Mine were almost flush up front and tucked about an inch or two in the back.

Why are you doing this swap? I was concerned when I first got my truck with the horrible streets and craters for potholes here in NYC especially that I have a heavy foot. I hit some nastly potholes and not so much even got a bubble in a tire or bend in a rim....

Baker, Stevens, Crystal, The Summit...

No go on the 305s as I understand they float too much in snow.

I doubt it would be that big of an issue if its a good tire, on my megacab I ran 325/65r18 dick cepek fun country IIs and was unstoppable in the snow and ice. years ago we had a record breaking winter up in big bear and I got caught it a blizzard on new years weekend coming home that sunday and do to all the accidents and closed roads had to take the back way out down the 18 into antalope valley and across 138 to parablossom highway. coming out of the mountian and across literally 60 miles of black ice I was the only vehicle not sliding all over the road and going into snow banks.
