Show off your 2015-2020 lowered tahoes and yukons

Sadly my 1971 Monte Carlo SS454 was stolen from me. I tried replacing it with a 1972 Monte Carlo 454 4 speed manual which was a fun car but never filled the void left behind with the loss of my SS454. Adjusted for inflation I had almost $20,000 in upgrading the engine. I was running 13:1...

My Fashionably Late 03 Denali XL Build Thread

One snowy day I took my 3 boys ages 13,13,15 to the empty high school parking in my 1999 Suburban for some driving lessons. After an hour of playing with me driving 1st then them I got out & let them go on their own. Shorty after a cop shows up & sees my Suburban sliding around on the...

Try removing your fender liners then bending the firewall side tabs in abit. I also did my top tabs and have no rubbing on my 305/45/22 with a 2/3 drop.

How do I get my Tahoe to ride/handle like my 3500HD?

Tires are pretty quiet now but I only have 5K miles on them. With the Hellwig swaybars + lowered + 305/45/22 summer tires it's not Cadillac smooth but smooth enough. I can hit those curves hard without any body lean. Upgraded cam (no AFM) & tune is icing on top. The bigger tires did cost...

How do I get my Tahoe to ride/handle like my 3500HD?

Installing General UHP 305/45/22 tires took the handling of my 2018 Yukon Denali to the next level especially in sharp turns. I have plenty of curvy hilly backroads to play on. Response & grip are very impressive. For clearance I adjusted the fender liner mounting tabs so I don't rub even with...

    AFM / DOD Delete

To eliminate the DOD/AFM lifters you have to replace the cam. The cam lobe profiles are different for non DOD/AFM & DOD/AFM lifters. I was able to reuse my pushrods when I installed a AFM delete cam & lifters 13K miles ago.

    73 Camaro

Since I'm keeping the 2011 Camaro 2SS convertible. I bought another donor, 2011 Camaro 2SS coupe with 6 speed manual transmission. Paid $5,600 including auction fees for this one. Manual car Rear-end center section sells on Ebay for $1,000. Brembo calipers $400-500 plus who knows what else...

AFM lifter fail on my 2018 Yukon Denali

With 13K miles since my AFM delete cam swap I'm at 21.7mpg. I was over 22mpg before installing taller & wider tires. Run 305/45/22 UHP summer tires that are 33" tall. I adjusted my speedo to match GPS @65mph. I'm also passed the 100K mile mark.

How do I get my Tahoe to ride/handle like my 3500HD?

As stated by others Hellwig swaybars will transform your ride. After installing the Hellwig swaybars I could feel a difference just by sitting in my Yukon. Bodyroll is gone.

AFM/DFM and Lifter Question - Moving from 07 Denali to Newer

I'm in Oregon, playing/modding vehicles is my hobby. Still working full time in the semiconductor world (40+ years) so no time to work on other people's projects. Maybe when I retire Have 13K miles driven since my cam swap and I'm still amazed with the results. Just got back from Bend OR so...

1 on 1 time with my 2018 Yukon that hit the 100K milestone

Most of what I see is Holden rebate as well. We have put 130K on our SS sedan and still runs/drives as go as it did when we bought it new in 2014.

1 on 1 time with my 2018 Yukon that hit the 100K milestone

CQuartz UK 3.0. I put in on my 2011 Camaro SS & 2014 SS Sedan too. Takes me around 5 hours to do a full paint correction then it's a 3 hour process to apply the ceramic coating. That's 2 coats with a 1 hour wait between coats. This ceramic is very easy to apply. Way easier than waxing but...

AFM/DFM and Lifter Question - Moving from 07 Denali to Newer

I did the cam swap myself. Think it was around $1,000 for all the parts. It took me about 20 hours to do but I took my time seeing this was my 1st time playing with an LS/LT style engine. Did another LT cam swap after and only took me 15hrs. Definitely more involved than a cam swap on an old...

1 on 1 time with my 2018 Yukon that hit the 100K milestone

The tread pattern works well for the rainy PNW. These tires do well going thru the backroads.

1 on 1 time with my 2018 Yukon that hit the 100K milestone

Removed fender liner, pushed out (hammer time) the top & fireside tabs that the liner connects to then reinstalled the fender liners. Tire were barely rubbing on tight turns but now no rubbing. Did this to my 2008 Avalanche that had the same lowering kit & 305 tires. The General UHP tires are...
