Hitched it to my "new to me" 1986 Aires 176 Fish and Ski bass boat.
While I love the Bermuda Blue my tahoe is, I may have to paint it like mu old ford. That way it matches the boat lol.
Truck Norris cam. More average power through the whole range and only giving up power at the very top of the rpm range. In a heavy vehicle you want more low and middle torque.
1. Remove valve cover
2. Clean out oil clogged ports and make them a little bigger
3. Install new pcv valve
4.Change your oil on a better schedule so the drain ports in the cover don't clog
Not necessarily needed but I did on BOTH my 5.3s
5. Install oil catch can
6. Don't use the upgraded covers...
If you can get a helper looking at moving rockers is easier.
Remove coil packs and valve covers and pull the fuel pump relay. Have helper crank the engine while you watch rockers. Look for any that aren't moving a whole lot, or seem to have slop. Otherwise, use a socket and breaker bar to rotate...
Something is wrong with the wiring, O2 sensors or tune. If the ST trims are always zero either they are not reading the change ( not good) or they aren't changing...and idk how that is possible without it being a tune issue. Can you flash back to the stock everything tune and see what happens...
They are worth 3hp and 3tq on a 4.8..... so let's say they are worth 4.5hp/tq on a 5.3.

Long tubes are the only way to go when naturally aspirated or supercharged. And stock manifolds go well into the 800s with a turbo. They are well designed.
