Until it got towards the end of its life cycle I had no problem with it sitting for a week or the rare 2 week period. Even if I don’t drive it I try to start it each weekend and let it warm up some. Keeping it garaged i would still need to run a cable for a solar set up but that’s not a bad...
Changed out my battery today. Last battery purchased 11/19. Only issue is it stopped holding a charge after sitting for a week or more. I usually only drive this one on the weekends, not uncommon for it to sit for 2 weeks. Went with the Wally World Maxx 4yr battery.
That was my first idea lol
Yup, on the passenger side so it seems to have come out of nowhere.
That’s a good question. I plan on blacking out the trim so this makes me hesitant to do a wrap as a beginner. I’m much better at painting but I’m slow.
My brothers 09 Tahoe just passed 205k with stock AFM running. I don’t think he owns a wrench but he does get it regularly maintained at a private garage. He bought it with a 100k on it.
Where’d you get the molding? I actually painted my chrome, on the top of molding, black to look like that but now that’s it’s chipping I might as well just replace it.
When you have 40 or 22 for that matter speakers, can you tell if one goes out or malfunctions immediately? I need someone to give me an EV because I know I will break it lol
On my Quick Look see during the jump, nothing stood out. I’ll give them a thorough inspection but will probably replace them with the battery for peace of mind.
Jump started my truck yesterday. Sat for 2 weeks and clicked when I hit the ignition. Started right up with a jump and no problems the rest of the day. I’m just gonna replace the battery since I have no idea of its age and will also do the +/- cables and grounds since at 105k they’re due if they...
Looking to upgrade my factory 16’s to 18’s and see a lot of 6x139.7 bolt patterns on eBay but unless it’s a GM rim eBay says it won’t fit my 99SLE. I hat else should I be looking for in terms of size for a compatible rim?
If they had used pictures of the actual years they were discussing article could be more credible. When I bought my 99 it had 42k and my uncle says upon inspection, that engine is knocking. 122k mile later, it’s still knocking lol
Def lucky. It sounds like you and the owner are really good friends, not many people have their car dealers owners personal cell number lol. As a regular non owner knowing customer spending 100k, you’d want better service than what OP is getting.
Which junk in particular did you work on? You might be the first person I’ve heard that prefers the reliability of the newest platform over previous years. Good to hear a differing opinion though.
Motor oil has been a good rust preventer on my 99 comparing the front of my frame to the rear. Various oil leaks over the years have made the foward part of the frame almost look like a different vehicle than the rear parts of the frame.
