    2001 Chevy Tahoe Wiring Harness

@strutaeng thanks for the tips! I think a few signals go into the cab for the instrument cluster. Was that a PITA to get those fished out? How did you do those? I'm wondering if a person could just install a connector there to avoid taking the grommet apart. I called my favorite junkyard. They...

    2001 Chevy Tahoe Wiring Harness

Yeah I may have to buy a used one and clean it up. My truck has lived it's life in AZ... It has almost 270k miles on it now. I never have completely removed my harness, however, I rewrapped a bunch of it and cleaned it up. All the wire insulators are melted together, and it's really ragged. Some...

Anybody? Know of a quality replacement wiring harness for GMT800 / 2001 Tahoe?

2016 Suburban Rear AC blowing Warm

I don't know if this will work... but you maybe able to go near rear bumper where the high and low pressure lines go to the evap and do a superheating test there. The touch test I recommended. Mine are exposed just inside the fender behind the tire (below where evap is in rear air system).

2016 Suburban Rear AC blowing Warm

Sounds like maybe a TXV valve issue. If you replaced the rear evap, did you put back the bulb sensor / install the bulb sensor? It's connected to the TXV valve. First check.... Remove the rear cover and check the inlet and outlet on the evap. Once side will be ice beer can cold. The other side...

    2001 Chevy Tahoe Wiring Harness

My harness is starting to have issues. Evap is doing weird things. Also when I'm tuning data I notice the Wideband won't read same as PCM unless I tie the grounds together. I think it maybe time to get a new engine wiring harness. Anybody know a good deal for decent quality? I see them all over...

    Liftgate handle

There's a linkage. Pull the trim / molding off the inside of the door. I recommend a plastic tool (not screwdrivers) to pop the plastic clips. The linkage is broken in some way. Probably a good idea to go to junkyard and pull the guts from another one. Then you learn before you work on yours...

    2016 Tahoe A/C issue

I don't like to hook up gauges if I don't have to. This is something the FSM won't explain but is VERY helpful. I like to check super heating and sub cooling first. You can get a quick IDEA of what maybe issue. A good AC tech will start by checking temps. It's a lot quicker and more effective in...

    Complete ac

Do you have rear air? Would you be replacing the air handler under the dash too? They sell kits on Rock Auto that are full rebuild of hard parts (minus airbox). Word of warning though. I bought one and the condenser was all beat up so I just left factory condenser in. I think factory came...

    Passenger side brake light

I believe your brake lights are separate bulbs. I'd test them in another fixture / vehicle to see if it's really the bulbs. Otherwise, I believe there's a brake switch for the lights and of course the wiring. Try another bulb (just get a cheap one) and or test those in another fixture first. Or...

    Cleaning Catalytic Converters

Ah cool. May still try a additive cocktail. Actually, you typically have some gas in the exhaust stream that doesn't get burnt. I presume if the cats get too hot then carbon can build up/ soot if not flushed out w/ a solvent such as gasoline in the COT routine the PCM runs. Don't take my word...

    Cleaning Catalytic Converters

I don't have a welder. Really just looking for cleaning ideas here. I've gone that route before with good success however, I want to know if anybody has tried cleaning the cats.

    Cleaning Catalytic Converters

Yeah kind of what I thought. If you have big chunks in cats then there's no sense in cleaning them but no way to easily tell unless they get pulled. I turned off COTs in my tune so maybe worth running a tank every now and again with a catalectic converter cocktail myself. That CataClean seems to...

    Cleaning Catalytic Converters

I got a small project with a friend. He is throwing catalectic converter code P420, if memory serves me right. His symptoms also seem to align with a plugged cat. Not sure we want to delete them as I've found backpressure is highly tuned on modern vehicles. I got WAY worse power and gas mileage...

    Left rear turn signal

If not fuses, you may like to do some sort circuit check to see if connection is made when you select the left turn signal using the multifunction switch. I have similar issues w/ my Corvette that I think might be related to the multifunction switch so I have to learn how to test it myself. Just...

    Tru-Cool Max 40k Transmission Cooler

If you're only doing normal driving (no towing), even if you are doing light towing... There's little chance you're overheating. Your name leads me to believe you have a 2006? In which case you'd have electric fans. Likely you don't even need to fiddle with those but can lower temp they turn on...

    Tru-Cool Max 40k Transmission Cooler

I have the cluster with the temp gauge. I'd highly recommend swapping out if you don't have one. That said, under normal duty, these transmissions are really hard to overheat w/ the factory setup. I venture the bypass I installed won't activate until this summer when I'm out using 4wd climbing...

    Tru-Cool Max 40k Transmission Cooler

Cut into the side coming out of the radiator (liquid to liquid cooler) to the liquid to air cooler. You want to have the liquid to liquid cooler help heat up the trans to operating temperature. It's pretty simple... splice the thermostat into the lines going to the front, liquid to air cooler...

    2015 Yukon Denali Crank/No Start

Not familiar with the DTC codes by heart. Sounds EXACTLY like when my VATS got triggered and my truck thought I was stealing it. It will turn over but then computer turns off fuel pump so it won't run. Engine MAYBE runs for a second. Does that sound like your issue? FYI ~ I think there's a DTC...

    Truck wont start suddenly

Maybe stating something already mentioned... But have you replaced your fuel filter? I don't know if that would help... or if could be clogged. Not entirely sure how the system works but imagine a clogged filter could really put a wrench in things. My pump at 255,000 miles was still perfect. I...

Random complete loss of all electrical power overnight

You're on right track more or less. I'm sure you've checked this... But make sure you have a GOOD connection from battery to battery cables. It can be you have a break in those power cables under the hood somewhere leading you to this symptom. It would drain the battery, and be dead as a door...

    Truck wont start suddenly

You say cranks but won't start... As in it fires over but won't keep running? Or just cranks? FYI ~ VATS will produce a similar issue if it glitches and thinks you stole your own truck. It'll fire over but not keep running. Otherwise, if it's JUST cranking, then you need to make sure your...

    PCM delivering wrong fuel mixture?

Awesome just what I needed to know! Awesome, that would make most sense to me. Thanks! You hit the nail on the head. The external cooler is WAY to big. Factory I found was actually really good for what I do, despite it's really small size. It worked for 95% of what I did. The 5% I have a trans...

    PCM delivering wrong fuel mixture?

GREAT Help... I dove deeper into the evap system. The solenoid is broken / stuck open, and command signal is stuck high as well. EVAP SYSTEM: Purge solenoid is broken / stuck open Command signal (harness side) always 1.5Ohms to ground green / white wire. However, I assume the pink (or orange?)...
