Well couldn't find anything else to go with so said the hell with it and ripped the top back apart. Found this wonderful little guy all the way in the back on the driverside. Brand new freaking parts, just grenaded itself. Can't find the chunks that are missing. Hope there in the bottom of the oil pan.

H O-Lee Chit Batman! That's horrendous and I'm sorry for your troubles. I hope things get sorted out soon.

I don't think that lifter failure can be blamed on the installer. I hope your friendship with this guy is not ruined.

No not blaming him for the lifter failure. Just in general of spending a grand on me without me even knowing what he was doing that's what pissed me off mostly

Still doesn't explain cylinder 1-3 being wet? Looks like that lifter turned 90 degrees at some point..
Have heard bad things about aftermarket lifter guides, might want to make sure you use factory parts there.

People often say they can do stuff...
Then I see two identical windows hung right next to each other, but one window is an inch higher than the other. WTF?
Haha, I told my friend not to use that friend of his because I'd seen his work before.

Not saying your friend is like that. I'm sure he was trying to help. All it takes is one screwup, pretty easy to do if not something you've done before.
But you pulled the head, you might as well go it alone this time. Hope you get her buttoned up again soon.

Thanks for sharing, and please keep us updated!

Definitely going it alone. It's not that I couldn't or didn't know what I was doing, I rebuilt this engine about a year, year and a half ago, just short on the time to get it done quickly. Thought by having him do it, it would of been done alot quicker and correctly all around. Bit not the case in form. The injectors look like they were used as birdies in a game of badminton. The hard plastic o-ring on top was broken off those 3 and the rubber o-rings look like they had the pick put through them. On top that the freaking gaskets under the intake manifold were not uniformed in sealing around the openings on the head so it was definitely leaking right it. I'll check and see if I took pictures of this as well. Just a shit kit in my opinion. Not like it was a cheap kit either, he spent a $1000 on this kit. But he did mess up cause the heads were way over torqued. Had to break out my 2ft breaker bar and still but some good amount of my 320lbs behind it to break them free.

Huh, those look like the upgraded fel-pro gaskets. Was the intake manifold not tightened evenly?
Appreciate the updates!

Not sure if it was, I wasn't there when he did it. But I know they are definitely not fel pro gaskets. There whatever crap came in the kit he bought.

Well here's the cam. I need someone honest opinion if this looks like a new cam or a used cam. For it being brand new I feels like there to much wear on it already. You can definitely see where the lifter was torn up. But the rest of it just doesn't look right to me
