Is it worth driving in 9th so the AFM does not opperate. Looking at ways to keep my 2023 running without lifter problems

You likely have Cylinder Confusion, aka Dynamic Fuel Management.
DFM features V8, V7, V6, V5, V4, V3, AND V2 modes.

Active Fuel Management is just V8 or V4 mode, aka Engine-half-@$$.
ANYWAY
IFF avoiding 10th gear manages to also avoid using Cylinder Confusion, then by all means do so. Your engine will last longer.
