Ive searched, and searched, and more

Just bought a 2010 yukon xl with heated and cooled seats. the heated part gets vaguely luke warm, and the cooling part of the seat just constantly turns on and off. the lights on the door stay on, but the fan unit cycles on and off about every 2 seconds when you turn it on cool.
Ive checked the module for burnt plugs, nothing wrong there. Fuse is good as well. relay clicks on when you turn the heated seat on. Not sure where to go from here.

Any help out there on this?

Could it be the logic in the system? On my Escalade if I have the climate control set on the 70s and then try to enable the recirculate option when driving through a tunnel to keep fumes out, the control panel just blinks and then reverts to the previous setting. If I set the control to 68, it lets me enable the option.

Now, I understand that this is a different system, but I wonder if the outside temperature where you are is causing the logic in the system to not actually cool the seats (the system cools via circulation of ambient air)? As for the heat only getting lukewarm, you may just need to give it more time. I think it takes a fair amount of time to get warm due to the way the system works and where it draws its air from. Once the passenger compartment warms up, it should get pretty darn hot.

I hope this helps.

Regards,

Mark

it doesnt matter what the temp settings in the car are. the passenger comes on and goes full stream. the drivers side cool comes on and the fan goes full speed and just shuts off and then back on before the fan ever stops. constantly... i may try and take a video of it and see if i can get it on here.

Mine gets cold, and once cold, cycles on and off. Can't hear it while driving, only while stopped and radio off. But it does cycle - it's gets cold first and then does it

My heat gets hot enough that If I have it on full heat, I have to turn it off in 10 minutes - or at least turn it down

Looking at the video, it makes me think the electric motor is malfunctioning. Can you pull the fan from the other side and move it over to see if it operates normally or pulses like that?

It's pretty damn cold here now. I'll try my cooled seat when I leave work and see what it does and let you know.

Regards,

M

EDIT: It was in the 20s when I left last night and the fan stayed on constantly for the cooled seats.

I still believe the motor is not right and if you can do it, I think it is a valid test to switch with a working one to see if the problem moves with the motor or not.

Good luck.
