I installed a new controller in my 2004 Yukon xl the first time I drove it the passenger side was blowing hot and driver side was cold. Then I drove it yesterday and both are blowing hot. And also this controller shows external temp where my old one didn’t. Plus it doesn’t read the same as the one in rear view mirror. So do I need to have controller calibrated or something not sure what to do

probably needs to be flashed to your vehicle/vin, I had a very similar problem when I replaced mine, took it to the dealer and asked them to reprogram it, it cost's about a bill, this was after I had done extensive diagnostics on my truck trying to figure out what the problem was. It was displaying the outside temp on the controller and I could only get heat in the rear if it was set to 90, if it was set to 89 or less it blew cold air, the tech2 said it was looking for a rear sensor that did not exist, after they flashed it the outside temp display on it was gone and everything worked properly it just needed to be set for my truck even though it was the correct part.
