parking brake on or wheels chocked, key in and turn to off, gear shift full swing down, steering column full swing down, grab around the whole bezel and start pulling. Disconnect any wire harnesses then pull it out to get the switch next.

Thank you.

Do those switches clean up well with a product like CRC electronic cleaner?

Or do the resistors just have a high common failure rate?

Never tried, never had and issue at all with mine. IIRC users were just remelting the solder between the board and connector terminals. Especially when the whole switch just outright quits working.

Just to mention, I got the selector switch out. (Thanks for the dash instructions.) Opened it up, sprayed it with the electronics cleaner, and it is working perfectly so far.:driver:

Nice to spend $5 instead of $50!

For a good app scanner software I use DashCommander. Its Bluetooth and Wi-Fi compatible. For the android version its like 20 bucks and Crapple its 40 bucks I think. For the hardware I got a Bluetooth OBD2 scanner off of Amazon and it ran like 15 to 20 bucks. I did not get the cheep Chinese made one. Look at the reviews before you buy it to know witch one you are getting, they look the same.

and it reads the codes as well.

I got this one and it works well. (I ultimately decided against Bluetooth to enable compatibility with an older laptop.)

Came with Scan XL Standard. (So I don't get double tapped for the GM Enhanced add-on pack.)

Ultimately, I'm looking to get the HP Tuners VCM Suite. Their "credits" sys looks obnoxious though.
