    Congrats! It looks terrific!

What do you guys think of my front brake pads?

Should be fine. 3/8” and 1/2” torque wrenches are wise investments though, even if they’re cheap harbor freight ones. I use them every time.

What do you guys think of my front brake pads?

Lots of life left. I don’t usually hang on to that kind of stuff, but they’re definitely reusable if you’re in a financial pinch in the future.

    The twin hoes

Time for a Blackbear tune - the benefits are myriad. Or HP Tuners if you feel capable.

2020 Yukon - PowerStop Rotors Warped after 4 months - SOLVED

I have the PowerStop Z23 setup (also drilled and slotted) on the front of my 2007 and they've been flawless. I tow with it occasionally and most recently did so over the spine of the Blue Ridge because it was snowing and I didn't want to use my newer 'garage-kept' Suburban for the trip. Like the...

What do you guys think of my front brake pads?

Good call. Super easy job on these, thankfully.

Please help me identify what this is

Usually where the oil cooler lines mount to the side of the engine/pan above the oil filter (some have a block-off plate there if they don't have an external oil cooler) is the first spot to leak. Rear main leaks are less common than that one. If you pop that cover out and it's dry behind it you...

What do you guys think of my front brake pads?

They look fine to me. Probably a little more than half worn on the pads. But the one on the caliper side usually wears out first, so it's worth getting a mirror back there for e a looksee.

2001 or 2025 for Summer Trips

I'll add my voice to the ones saying keep driving the '01. The only thing I can think of that's likely to strand you on that generation is the fuel pump. You've already done the other thing, which is the coolant tees at the firewall. I had an '02 Suburban for several years and sold it to a...

What is the Vin Code for Apple Car Play? (2019 Yukon)

This is the key question. I don’t know if 2019 is any different but my 2018 only has wired CarPlay. I had to buy an adapter from Temu to use it wirelessly.

    Odd to me Dash Light

I haven't. I was guessing it got the information either through my phone or from the onboard sat nav database, but I have no idea.

Hiro's 2010 Yukon Build (Betty White)

Nice finds! You might be able to send that grille to a plating shop. I'll bet they could clean it up and re-plate it for you with Chrome for a reasonable price. And while we're celebrating you spending money, was the 6.2 from that donor still there?

    New Travel Trailer

I've seen lots of Airstreams for sale out that way, so when it comes time for us to buy one, I'd be happy to pay you to inspect it for us if it's anywhere near you and you're open to it.

Does my radiator have an engine oil cooler?

My '07 XL Denali is the same - no engine oil cooler from the factory. However, when I installed a new radiator in 2023, I bought a Denso that has the engine oil cooler in it, along with a set of cooler lines. When it's time to replace the driver side motor mount again, I will install the cooler...

    New Travel Trailer

Glad you caught that reference. One of the biggest mistakes I see new owners make is getting up on the roof with a tube of silicone caulk. It makes future spot sealing with a proper self-leveling lap sealant impossible because it won't stick to the silicone. So when the silicone cracks and...
