Doing autowork in sub-freezing temps sucks balls. There was no way a human arm was getting to that FTP sensor without dropping the tank some on this Tahoe, so I did the partial drop and got the sensor out. Dumb ass thing looked new, reads .5V off. Too right. I figure I'll try first just snaking my arm up there, when that fails I'll pull the driveshaft, and if that fails I'll lower the tank partially. This sounds like a 2-3 beer job.- Logan5

Fuel Tank Pressure Off - SOLVED
This is the 2nd tahoe I have, and also the 'extra' car that rarely gets driven. Why I risked the cheapo fuel pump. On primary tahoe I have also dropped the tank twice already. Once for fuel pump (a 'real' one), and once for doing brakelines. So that's already 3 tahoe tank drops in recent memory.- Logan5

Great video thanks. He gets the FTP sensor off without dropping the tank. Maybe Santa will bring me an auto lift for christmas. He verifies that the sensor should read 1.5 V ~0 mmHg at atmosphere. I almost wish my sensor was stuck at a voltage so I knew it was def bad, rather than it...- Logan5

2005 Tahoe Ls stalling
Truck stalled while driving today, luckily I got it into a park lot with momentum before I had to stop. Won't restart, no engine light. Nothing visibly wrong, cranks, won't start. Exhaust manifold leak part 2. Unbolted the manifold again to try to see why its leaking from the gasket. Got a straight edge and checked to see if I had warpage. Found some corrosion that was giving me a gap. Doesn't look like much but it was enough to give me the leak. A little...- Logan5

Yeah I was joyed when they started to turn without breaking off. There's that moment when you start to torque it and its either going to turn or snap off. Super happy I got them out. I failed on the driver side though, left one bolt in the head and used the dorman clamp.- Logan5

Tackled the exhaust manifold bolts on the passenger side today. First and last were broken. Took off all the spark plug wires. Put the Dorman cheater clamp on to secure that rearmost part of the exhaust manifold. Was a b*tch to get in, went from underneath and put a bend in one of my wrenches to get it tightened. But seems like it worked and haven't heard the ticking since. Gotta say having a few crappy wrenches...- Logan5

LED Brake Light Bulbs Will Disable Cruise Control on GMT800
So I been running "painfully bright" LEDs on all my exterior lamps, headlights, brights, fogs, DRLs, brakes, turns, reverse, etc. The interior bulbs have been replaced with LEDs as well, but not bright whites, inside I went for 'Pimp Purple'. Something new to l-u-s-t after
When I got the chance to grab an 06 cluster I took it, and I did it for exactly this reason. I hate the lcd prndl display, the clean LED indicators are much nicer. Those leds are integrated into the pcb, so changing them out for a different color is not simple, like changing out gauge bulbs.
