What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I am ashamed to admit, I am in the same boat. My rear passenger side regulator started acting up almost a year ago. It had trouble going up and it was making horrible crunching sounds. I finally got it rolled up, and I ordered a new regulator/motor assembly from Rockauto. It's been sitting in...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I parked it, because the transmission will not shift above 30-40mph. I cab actually get it up to almost 70, but only if I rev the engine to like 4500 rpms. I was able to attach least limp it home like that. I am hoping it's not something major. Maybe a shift solenoid or something? It's always...

    I installed E-fans on my 2001

I see what you're saying about constantly cycling when the AC clutch is engaged. And yes, I can confirm that DOES indeed happen, because my fans are wired to the AC clutch. In colder or extremely humid weather when I have the defroster running, I can hear my fans CONSTANTLY kicking on and off...

    Electric Fan Conversion Question

You are WAY overthinking all of this. Are you really willing to sacrifice you AC circulation function JUST to have the PCM trigger the fans, and not the AC compressor trigger the fans? Yes, the temp relay commands them on at low speed. But low speed is more than enough to cool just fine in...

    '02 Loose Shifter

If you have a loud stereo system with big subwoofers, the constant vibrations can cause bolts to come loose. I had that problem with the steering column on a Cutlass that I used to own. I had three 10" subs on a big Kicker amp beating up rhe block knocking pictures of the walls. The screws in...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I dont understand why so many people hack up their floors like this. Some people do it because they buy cheaper pumps that fail every 2-3 years, and they want it easier to replace. To each his own, I guess. When my fuel pump went out, I just forked out the cash for an OEM AC Delco fuel pump...

    Electric Fan Conversion Question

I remember reading in a thread over on Performance Trucks about adding a pressure sensor and then reconfigure the computer software to recognize it and everything. So it can allegedly be done, but in my opinion it's not worth the hassle. Like I said, I have been daily driving my 2001 like...

    Electric Fan Conversion Question

In most climates, it would be just fine. But in very humid climates, like here in Louisiana, the AC compressor comes on to help the defroster to decrease humidity, and it that actually helps a LOT. But in drier climates, you will most likely not see any issue. Another option would be to wire...

    Electric Fan Conversion Question

Yes, the extra relay I added in the harness is needed to convert the AC compressor clutch trigger wire to work with the fan harness. And yes, its a pretty tight fit under the fuse block stuffing the harness and relay underneath the fuse block, but it just BARELY fits. On the 00-02 trucks, there...

What % window tint do y'all have ?

This is exactly what I have on my rig. Abd I have NEVER been pulled over for my window tint. I've had other cars in the past that had 20% tint all the way around, and I have been pulled over several times because of the tint. But in the 19 years I have been driving my Suburban, not one single time.

Brake light on and wires frayed??

That looks like rodent damage. Plus a lot of those wires are already corroded. To repair it properly, you will need to cut out all the corroded sections till you can see bright clean copper again, then solder a repair section in. It will be very time consuming, but if you can solder, it should...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Correct. I've had to repair broken wires inside the rubber door jamb boot. Due to the flexing of the door opening and closing, I had two wires that broke. One was a door lock wire, and one was a speaker wire. But the complete wire wasn't broken, just the conductors. The insulation was still...

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

Worst case scenario, if you can't repair that wire. You could always go cut that plug off a donor truck in the junkyard, and just splice every wire in that harness. That's what I did when I had a bad wire in the plug for my power windows.
