It’s been roughly 8K since this started. Oil pressure hasn’t been below 35-40psi hot unless it’s 117°F outside and it’s idling in the sun without the clutch fan being able to suck in much air.
Pulling the engine isn’t too big of a deal, i’m putting a new engine in my other truck in a couple...
Nothing magnetic that I can tell. I couldn’t get any pics of the oil before i took recycled it but it’s bad. Bottom of the pan was covered in metal shavings and what looked to be very tiny blue RTV pieces.
I just did my 2nd oil change since owning my Tahoe.
First time, there was metal in it. It wasn’t too bad.
This time. It was literally full of metal. Oil had that metallic flake to it. It was scary.
I don’t know where it’s coming from. It doesn’t appear to be magnetic, and the engine runs...
Apologies for not responding sooner. Been a bit rough here, that and the fact I got a new phone and didn’t know how to log in for a bit. lol.
I can confirm at least according to data PIDs it’s running lean. It’s adding around +25% fuel trims on long terms and short terms for both banks. Yet...
Also, got HP Tuners today. Bought 2 credits and firmed up the shifts and upped the shift points so i don’t have the early 2-3 shift at wide open throttle anymore.
Drives even better, didn’t know that was possible. Then gave her a nice wash. Need to start thinking about repairing the paint soon.
No lean codes at all. Just the P0157 and now the P0131 that hasn’t come back yet.
It hasn’t misfired at all, and without the P0131 setting it drives just fine with no power loss at all. It’s only when that code specifically sets to where it loses all power. I don’t believe the transmission is...
Hello all.
I’ve had some confusing issues with my Tahoe since I bought it stemming from the 02 sensors.
Originally, when it was colder out, I would get a repeated P0157 only if i beat on it. Had to be at or near wide open throttle for it to set. I was able to get it smogged here in California...
They came aligned very well.
Only issue I noticed was the housings not lining up perfectly with the headlight bracket. You think the 2 metal allen key things are in how they should be until you look down and realize that it’s ****-eyed because the bottom hole didn’t align up with the bottom...
First very long drive since I bought her after upgrading exterior lighting.
I know it may not be the look everyone loves, but i absolutely love this Tahoe. She looks damn good for having nearly 250K!
In my opinion, yes.
You could easily dump in a few grand into a used GMT800 and make it nice again. They will last much longer than the newer stuff too.
