What is this part that is leaking coolant?

I have a coolant leak that I thought was from the thermostat housing, but after replacing that and the thermostat the leak continues. The thermostat area is completely dry, so I added some dye so I can find the leak easier. It seems to be pooling from the area circled red, I also included some photos with a uv light which shows where it's dripping down.

The part circled red, what is that which could be leaking coolant? Any help appreciated

I believe that's called the coolant crossover and there is a gasket/o-ring under there.

Yes, they make replacement gaskets for those.

Unfortunately, this picture doesn't have the entire part number. The are like $12 each IIRC. There's a pair on the front (with the crossover pipe) and another in the back of the engine (just solid little plugs like on this photo.)

It's called a coolant bypass seal (or head steam port crossover). I presume they are the same my truck took but confirm your year, make, and model on RockAuto... There they are $6.06 plus tax & shipping.

More Information for DORMAN 56390

ITC billet makes an upgraded steam port crossover that takes regular o-rings. However, probably not worth it. I just used the factory one with new seals when I built my engine.

I have the same issue. I was thinking it might be safer to swap out the entire crossover since i have to remove one side anyway. It is about $62 on Amazon.

I bought the o rings mentioned and so far so good. Only replaced the side that was leaking

Did you have enough room to leave the other side on? Loss much coolant?

Yeah just unscrewed the one side that was leaking, fluid started coming out so I quickly lifted the crossover just enough to put the gasket under and quickly put the bolt back in. Lost a decent amount of fluid though still, engine was still warm fwiw
