So have a 99 tahoe and I've been thinking about taking only my body and swapping it on maybe a 2015 complete chassis. Motor suspension transmission full interior as well. Does anyone have any kind of information on maybe cost or what to do or not to do? Any and all information is appreciated.

Yeah, maybe some clarification would help. If you’re wanting to (basically) replace a (rusty?) 1999 frame with a 2015 frame while keeping the 1999’s 350, transmission, body, etc. then it’s surely easier to find a donor GMT400 frame somewhere. But, hey, I’m sure someone’s done it by now.

Or, if you have a donor 2015 that’s just sitting there, swapping the 350 and transmission for a 5.3 (or 6.0 or even 8.1) is pretty common and I’d wager that aftermarket harness kits are probably available now.

It can be done but it’s a big job the biggest deal would be the interior swap the frame swap might not be too crazy once you get the cab mounts figured out if your frame is good it would be easier to Ls swap it in your frame then maybe swap in a new carpet and 2015 seats the dash will be a expensive job to do

I suspect the "funny" emoge is that most people would like to swap their 2015 body on a good 1999 frame and running gear to eliminate all the failure prone garbage on the later model.
