Good morning I have a 2015 GMC Yukon XL Denali, as of last week my passenger window which used to have the auto up feature, when controlled by the driver side switch stopped working. I still have the auto down function, and the passenger window will still work from the driver side, but now I have to hold the button until closed (same function as the rear windows now) from the driver side control.
The passenger side control functions in both Auto up and down, as it should.
I have seen resets for the switches, saying to hold the button in position, up or down, for X seconds, I have tried this from 2 - 10 seconds, with no change.
Has anyone else experienced this, or can give me some troubleshooting tips.

Thank you

Did you fix it? What was the solution? The driver window on my Yukon is doing the same thing.

Fours years old you may not get a response, you could start your own thread with the issue you are experiencing.

Good morning I have a 2019 GMC Yukon XL SLT, my Driver side window which used to have the auto up feature, has to be held in up position to close the window. I still have the auto down function, but now I have to hold the button until closed for the driver window.

IS there a reset using the window switch? Holding it up &/or down position? You mentioned disconnecting the battery, I just had mine replaced 2 weeks ago? This problem has been going on for at least a year now. Sometimes it works as advertised, then some times the problem happens all the time? It's such a petty question is why I haven't asked before.

I do not know of any specific reset procedure other than
1. disconnecting the battery will sometimes result in it requesting a window up/down (reset) in the dic
2. using a diagnostic scanner, there are window relearn settings in GDS2, but other higher end scanners may have the same ability like autel, snap on, bosch, etc
other possibilities...
3. Try Common Reset Methods: While these might not be specific to your vehicle, here are some common methods used in other vehicles:
  • Multiple Presses: Quickly press and release the window up button several times in succession.
  • Hold the Button: Press and hold the window up button for a prolonged period.
  • Combination with Other Buttons: Try combining window button presses with other buttons, such as the door lock or unlock buttons.

If nothing else works read the Owner's Manual.
