Passenger side steering rack bushing? replacing

I have a pretty noticeable clunk when making certain tight turns (faster U-turns etc)
I have found play at the passenger side steering rack bushing.. Can make it clunk by hand.
Purchased a GM replacement bushing,
Country of Origin = USA!?

it's a split rubber piece that looks like it was made in India..

How do I install it?

My guess..
Remove passenger tie rod from knuckle.
Undo accordion boot. Possibly need to remove tie rod end?
Unbolt passenger side bracket and slip it off?

Hoping it's easy if anyone has some tips...

I replaced mine with a poly bushing. It was a fight getting the poly bushing back onto the rack, hopefully the rubber is a little more forgiving.

You just unbolt the 2 bolts that hold the bracket and bushing in place and slide it towards wheel. You will have to slide the accordian boot over but you don't have to remove it completely, unless you want to.
It has been a few years since I did it.

I also installed a bracket into the bushings on the opposite end that are supposed to stiffen everything up.

The Junglewebsite has those same pics, and it looks like it fits, but thebjne review with photos said the poly bushing was too thick to fit into the collar.

What technique did you use to drive the bushing home?

Those are indeed the same pics as on the site. I forgot to get pics because as mentioned it was a struggle to get it on without removing the rack.

I lubed it and used a ratchet strap to help coerce it back onto the rack. Definitely a tight fit, but that is what you want, right?

To get it inside the bracket you have to kind of fold one end inside, toward the open center, and overlap the other end to reduce the overall diameter, slide it inside the bracket then uncoil it, if that makes sense.

On a side note a few years later I replaced the whole rack, due to it leaking inside the accordian boots, and the bushing and bracket were much easier to install with it off the truck. Not sure if it was due to the angle or just overall accessibility or the fact that it had previously been installed and was "worn in" a bit or what but no real trouble changing it over to the new rack.

Just replaced with a factory one today..

Looking at the old and new, you can't tell any difference..
The rack end slid through pretty easily with not a whole lot of tension/resistance.

Unfortunately I STILL have an occasional clunk.. probably balljoint.. only happens when full lock left turn and braking.. sometimes..
And I noticed a littler seepage from the rack...
And oilpan is wetter than it ever has been (rear main or oilpan I'm thinking)

Perfect timing. I’ve had my ricochet.com kit since ‘20. Sold the ‘08 YXL Denali before I had a chance to install it. The 09 Escalator is getting a complete front end refresh in Jan with a new rack for its 190k Mi birthday.

Just pulled this out of the rear cargo storage box and threw it in with the new rack box for the Caddy. Almost forgot it was back there. Should be wax on, wax off to add it to the new rack before the rack swap.
