Howdy, we’re currently trying to decide between a 2024 Tahoe RST and Yukon (24 or 25) SLT/Elevation. We love the look of the sporty/black accents on the RST (we hate chrome), but we just found out that you can’t get the RST with ventilated seats. Apparently you can’t get them on the ‘25 models either, according to the dealer. The interior is also our favorite between those.
We live in the Houston area, and it’s always hot and humid. Is it possible to add the ventilated feature after the fact, either through aftermarket or OEM parts being installed?
We can get a Yukon SLT but it would take some work and money to get the blackout look we would be going for, and we would still prefer the look of the Tahoe.
Does anybody regret not getting ventilated seats?
Thanks in advance!!

Also in Houston, #1 complaint with mine is the lack of ventilated seats. It’s like GM is punishing me for not getting the option by secretly toggling the heaters on or something. Never had a sweaty back issue an any other vehicle.

Been thing of putting together a parts list together for a retrofit.

If you live and drive anywhere that is warm or hot most of the year ventilated seats should be an option. My 2024 Tahoe is the first vehicle of mine that has ventilated seats and I would never buy another vehicle without it! Im in Florida and use it all the time. Even with AC pumping it feels so nice to have the ventilation on seat and back - no more sweaty back!

Also probably good for the seat material too. There is 3 levels of power but so far I always use the full power 3 light setting.

If I keep this vehicle beyond warranty I will buy the extension because I think it is expensive to repair if it goes out and I would not want to go long without it!

I would guess this would be difficult, if not nearly impossible, to add after the fact. But I don't think it's just a matter of adding a blower or something like that - the seats themselves are actually different I believe, as the ventilation requires perforation on the seats. I have a Z71 Tahoe and so of course no ventilated seats either.

Appreciate the replies! We decided to go with the '24 Yukon. Didn't seem worth the extra 5-10k for the '25 since really you just get the different dash with a larger screen and we were able to get a good deal on the '24 (only 1-2k more than the RST). We couldn't justify spending that much money on a brand new (what I consider to be a luxury) SUV that didn't have ventilated seats, especially on the hot/humid Texas Gulf coast. I was fairly confident I could rig up a blower of some sorts with a hidden toggle switch, but that jut didn't sit well with me, especially if there's potential to void the warranty.

We are very happy with the Yukon, but will start the conversion from chrome to black. Actually just purchased the black grille with the color matched summit white surround, black badges, and the gloss black fog light bezels. We'll probably have the rest of the trim either painted or vinyl wrapped in black.

You have highlighted one of the reasons I waited to buy a 25 Tahoe RST instead of the 24 Tahoe RST......I completely agree, I will never buy another vehicle without ventilated seats.

The internal/external camera system new in the 25 is also the big reason I waited

The dealer I talked to walked through the build on a 25 RST with us and he showed us that option wasn’t available. He might’ve just been trying to sell us the 24 that day though lol. I was definitely skeptical though. I agree with you though, it’s not worth settling for one that doesn’t have the ventilated seats.

I was told by my dealer that there are constraints on several packages. I want the Advanced Technology Package and the Dark Essentials Package (because I hate chrome too!) Both those packages are currently constrained but they are only a week into building the 25 model year. I figure a couple months the constraints should be gone.
