Just as I’m sure everyone experienced, the dash in my Suburban was so far gone, there were craters everywhere. The cover was so brittle that pieces just cracked off at random. The first order of business replace dash cover. At first I was looking at the Dashskin, but I later realized that wasn’t going to work because the cover cracked all the way down by the headlight bezel. Here in Houston there are a lot of vendors selling fiberglass dash covers. I was skeptical at first, but after checking out was a replay over cost from the dealer, I thought what do I have to loos, so I picked up one. It’s a complete cover and the front vent cover.

Here in South Texas there are many vendors selling these on FB Marketplace. The one I bought mine from has a brick and mortar, but they also sell on Marketplace. Here are a few.

The next step was to remove the old dash. The dash literally fell apart as I pulled it apart as I removed all the screws. Everything looked pretty self explanatory as I pulled it out. The plastic was really brittle.IMG_4842.jpeg

Since I had the dash out, I decided to remove the two cigarette lighters and add USB's
Those look neat -- what brand & part number are they?

I have installed Blue Sea Systems USB chargers in my other vehicles, but if this one has better specs, that'd be good to know.

And what's that button for? Breaker reset? On/Off?
Or it it just an LED lense?

I'd only replace one, in case I need a plug...
(I do for my clone Tech 2. Candi module no work without DC adapter plugged in)

But I might replace one if I could keep the factory cover...

I purchased these on Amazon. The fitment for the lighter was a bit smaller than the USB adapter, so I had to Dremel it a bit to open it up. I also put one in the back seat for the rear passengers. I still have a lighter in the center console and the back if I need one. This is the exact one I used. It's a simple hook up. The only thing I hate is the aux fuse is a constant 12v. I am thinking of rewiring them to a proper ACC that turns off when I cut the engine.
