No Maps or Speed Limit

Suddenly lost the speed limit (just have the -- on the sign).
Also my maps are showing all of North America. Seems like I lost GPS.
Tried logging in & out of Google & checking for app updates.
Any ideas?

The speed limit says it requires a data plan (after 3 years). I canceled OnStar immediately, so my maps don't work, except in Android Auto.

Check with OnStar. I believe they control the data.
After Scarey's response I checked my onstar. The button did not have the normal lit green light. Pushing the button did nothing...no connection. The next morning, before I had a chance to call onstar, the light was relit, maps & speed limit were back.

My speed was back yesterday as well.
I would bet OnStar had an IT issue and just corrected it.

So now Onstar, GPS functions (Map, compass, speed limit sign) are again not working. Also lost google assistant.
Then check engine light threw code P00FF. "Body Control Module requested MIL illumination". Thoughts? Think this can all be related? P00FF is a pretty generic code. Trying to get truck into dealer.

I have a 2022 Tahoe Z71 and I have exactly the same problem. I took it to the dealer and they said it is a control module that operates Onstar as well as the other connectivity like Google maps. They said the module is on back order with no ETA so I picked up the Tahoe and will wait for them to call when the part is in.

Did it happen after you took it in for a software update?

I was going to ask you the same thing. (I recently had the update done with no issues, but plenty of people haven't been so lucky.)
