Lemon Laws vary from state to state. As you can see below NY and FL both have a 24 month limit on new vehicles, but NY has an 18K mileage limit and FL have a more lenient 24K mileage limit.

Here is NY law
The New Car Lemon Law protects those who buy or lease new cars or motor homes that turn out to be "lemons." If your car does not conform to the terms of the written warranty and the manufacturer or its authorized dealer is unable to repair the car after a reasonable number of attempts, you may be entitled to a full refund or a comparable replacement car. NOTE: A car is considered new if it was purchased less than two years from its original delivery date and has fewer than 18,000 miles on it.
Here is FL Lemon Law
Time limit: Florida's Lemon Law has a mileage limit of 24,000 miles. You have 24 months from the delivery date of your vehicle to take action under the Florida Lemon Law. Mileage limit: The vehicle must have 24,000 miles or fewer on the odometer, whichever comes first.
Thank u for the information

Friends son is a 20+ yr gm technician. We were bugging a while back why he is not driving a newer truck (has a 2006). His reason; ever since GM went to these active fuel management (AFM) and now dynamic fuel management (DFM) engines they (in his shop) seen a major uptick in engine related issues. With AFM it was burning oil and now with DFM is lifter failure that often takes out the engine with it. GM does not care, under warranty they fix, after warranty the customer pays and GM makes $ selling the parts. Said a lifter job can cost upwards of $8,000 +- providing it does not destroy the engine in the process. My neighbors 2021 Silverado 5.3L had the lifters destruct at 90,000 miles and they had to pay nearly $9,000 in repairs at a Chevy Dealer. Left him stranded out in nowhere land at 3am on a Sunday. RAM has the same lifter issues. Its all because of EPA and fuel economy goals they have to meet.
And......GM conveniently lowered the powertrain warranty from 100k to 60k. Coincidence? I think not. When I saw that happen, I could see them knowing it would cost too much under warranty so they passed the buck. Bunch of crap in my opinion. For $80k, a vehicle should be problem free for MANY miles and YEARS of service.

But, they won't step on the feet of commercial buyers who change out trucks like underwear, they still get 100k powertrain. Caveat: those vehicles are usually not in the CAFE group, therfore not built with problematic components and gimmicks.

This right here. I do not believe anyone is aware of any failure of the 6.6L which is available in the 2500 and 3500 Silverados. I have the 6.0 Vortec and the thing is reliable like death and taxes. Again, commercial client that would not tolerate the short lifespan and potential revenue loss of trucks being down.

The only complaints I've heard first hand was oil consumption. It seems to be an issue on some trucks, not sure what years are affected. Totally sucks to have that problem too, but at least it won't leave you stranded.

no, just EGR, DPF, and SCR issues. And a belt driven oil pump at the back of the engine that as it wears the rubber it sheds clogs the oil pump pickup screen.

so it’s six of one , or a half dozen of the other, pick you poison ( or in this case more like pick your favorite piece of ****).

Much ado over nothing. The belt is rated to 200,000 miles. I have a few friend with the LM2 engine and they say they have no problems. Mine has been trouble free.

For you viewing pleasure---->

Ha Ha Thats right.... Not a single one of those "issues" pop up on here or anywhere else nearly to the extent of 5.3 and 6.2 issues. I don't think I've read on ANY forum about 3.0 engines being replaced more than once or twice. So far uses no oil, gets great mileage and not a whimper out of it....

Plenty of issues with the 3.0 too, its just that generally speaking the owners of those are more often then not gearheads or car people that purposely chose the oddball engine for its perceived benefit's. The general 6.2 Tahoe or Yukon owner (remember the 6.2's are really only in the upper trim level trucks) doesn't even know how to pop the hood.

But a since we wanna do Youtube videos of how good the 3.0 is, plenty of videos about how bad they are too,

and the list goes on, got tired or copy/ pasting
