transmission whine?

My 2014 Tahoe PPV has a loud whine when I get on it. Attached video.

Its been like that for the last 10k miles/2 years, but i fear its getting louder. It did go away after it warmed up, ill restest it tomorrow and see if it whines when its all warmed up.

I checked the trans fluid, red and full. I just don't want my transmission to go bad on me, it'd probably be half the cost of the truck to fix it. I haven't done a transmission service yet, but depending on where this goes, that might be next.

kinda sounds like alternator whine? (listening through laptop speaker)
maybe power steering if it goes away after warmup.

Might try disconnecting your accessory belt and short drive around the block to rule those things out.

I replaced my alternator a couple months back, but ill try those things out in the morning .Thanks!

If the noise is actually coming from the trans, it's likely to be either front planet or pump. The needle bearings in the pinion gear shafts that each pinion gear rotates upon get worn and make noise. Once the wear progresses sufficiently, the planetary assembly comes apart. Pump can also make noise though vane style pumps arent as prone to it compared to traditional drive-driven gear pumps.

You can drop the pan to see if any kibbles and bits are at the bottom - if so, yank the unit for overhaul.
