Any one else have a tiny hole in the middle of the oil pressure sensor. I had a massive leak on mine where it plugs into the harness, it was filled with oil not even sure how it was still reading pressure, I bought this one from amazon for $15 to replace when i bought the truck for saftey measures, should of kept the old one.

so i got another one from rock auto GM part or similar for $50, and it also has a tiny hole in the middle of the plug but its smaller and looks it did not seal up all the way during manufacturing or something.

I have not put it in the new one yet. but yes they both have holes where i think they shouldn't. So im wondering if i can take some super glue and put a tiny dot to cover the hole on the new sensor.

just looked up an image of the sensor and it has a tiny hole in it online, so it must be standard. Still the sensor was full of oil so im going to replace with new one and keep an eye on it i guess.

you might not want to. so usually a pressure sensor has a diaphragm that seals whatever fluid from the electronic part that changes the voltage with movement of the diaphragm. but for the diaphragm to move it needs air on the other side.

I'm not a 100% sure but I bet that's normal, as it's pretty common for them to fail by leaking like that. if you can wait till tomorrow I have 2 old sensors in my tool box at work tomorrow that didn't leak, just one read zero and the other failed to max. I can look and take a pic to see if that hole is there.

I'd hate for you to have finally gotta a good. oem sensor, since all the Amazon ones are fake. and mess it up without knowing.

so this is what I see. I believe this is the original factory installed sensor I replaced on my 2011.

I got it with 135k on it, which is pushing it on milage the oem lasts, but it's around that window with good luck. if course it failed within a few months of buying it haha.

on a side note, I didn't get a pic but what I believe was a fake acdelco form Amazon looks shiny inside, like a worn out or cheaper mold. that might be a way to tell legitimate sensor from knock off.
