Lol ... The first time, yeah it might take an afternoon. After you've done two or three, it's a 2-hour job. The Escalade front diff is pretty light duty, takes about 20 minutes to pull it out and drop that crossmember. 20 minutes later you have your oil pan on the bench. The Hummer H2 is basically identical, except the front diff is a real beast; It's at least 2x heavier and needs to be strapped down to the transmission jack. I would encourage anyone to dive into it for the first time.... No special tools required.... And then pay yourself that extra couple hundred dollars
