On my 4Runner I replaced the inserts twice in 11 years though mind you I probably should have done it 3 times. I’m hoping the OEM blades on my ‘24 Yukon XL SLT give me a few years.

My 2021 F150 was traded in after 3 years (lease) and the OEM blades were absolutely fine. Can’t imagine not going OEM and why blades would need to be replaced so often as some have described above. OEM blades also look clean.

I’ve had the Yukon since April with 6,000 miles and they work like day 1 (as they should). When the time comes, I will replace the inserts.

I am sure it depends you live.
We have chemicals and sand thrown on the road in the winter and it gets thrown about by the tires including on the windshield.
I can picture beach and desert environments having sand moved by the wind. I have been pelted by sand out on the Hatteras beach.

yep the summer heat here just loves to ruin anything plastic or rubber, the thinner it is the faster it is turned to dust particles, just sucks the oil right out of it.
