LOL, I always drive around in reverse. It keeps a kink in my neck, but I haven't had to buy new blades in 17 years.

yep the summer heat here just loves to ruin anything plastic or rubber, the thinner it is the faster it is turned to dust particles, just sucks the oil right out of it.I am sure it depends you live.
We have chemicals and sand thrown on the road in the winter and it gets thrown about by the tires including on the windshield.
I can picture beach and desert environments having sand moved by the wind. I have been pelted by sand out on the Hatteras beach.
