The only thing you should be putting in your crank case is fresh oil

I have a 2002 Nissan Altima with the V6, it is a known issue for the rear main to leak after about 160k miles.
Mine now has 250k miles and the rear seal is leaking.
I tried some of that blue devil stuff and it worked great until I changed the oil.
It is now back to leaking again.

Rear main seal in a bottle would be great, but if it sounds to good to be true it usually is! Shops around me want $2500 to do one so once the weather warms up in Jersey looks like I'll be under the truck for a few days....

So, is that the going price to do a rear main seal on a 4x4 Tahoe?

I thought the going price on the west coast was insane. I'm hearing $1,400 to do a rear main on an all-wheel drive. If you're not in the habit of doing it, it will take you most of a day.

Yup! Asking a Caddy dealer to do a 100k major service on your AWD truck is about $1500. The trans is removed in the process.

It’s the same for the RMS / rear main seal procedure but they skip the 100k mile service. A cocky Serv Mgr may offer to fix the RMS for an extra $250 while they’re in there.

I just realized you also started this other thread: https://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/rebuilt-5-3l-engines.152238/

Sounds like you need a band-aid fix? Are you going to get your engine rebuilt soon? Is there something wrong with it? You probably don't want pay for a RMS on an engine if it's on it's last leg? Or what's going on? If the engine is coming out for a rebuild, then you obviously will get a new RMS.
