Corvette servo install debacle

Hey guys,

So I managed to screw up my corvette servo install. Guess I should have left well enough alone!

As you know there is very little room to work on the servo on these trucks (which is a little surprising). I managed to get the old one out, which was a chore, and install the new one piece by piece. The powder coated cover on the new servo was too tight in the bore, so I used the old cover and cleaned it up.

Getting the snap ring on took a few tries, and a realization that the cover had to go deeper in the bore. Finally got the snap ring on and was satisfied it was well seated.

All was well for a coupe days and then I started having a 1-2 flare. Coming home I noticed a cloud of smoke and figured I knew what that meant. By the time I got home 1-2 was a mess.

Thankfully fluid level was still ok when I got home, and I noted the servo cover was about half way out of the case. About 1/4 of the snap ring was out too. Got the cover off and the first piston, and the rest is trapped in the trans. Can get the pin to budge and seems like part of the assembly is cocked sideways a bit in the bore.

Any ideas or tricks on this one?

@03yukXL - put the 4th piston return spring washer and retainer "E" clip style snap ring back on (leave the spring itself off for now) then use a medium length pry bar behind the washer to gently force the rest of it out of the case.

Thanks man. No luck so far that thing is wedged pretty good. You can see in the pic the piston is cocked slightly in the bore. Wondering if I should drop the exhaust and grab a drill
