Playing around with the 2025 build configurator and it shows a $5,540 up charge for the diesel engine on the Z71.

On the build calculator for a Silverado ZR2, there is only a $1,965 up charge to the diesel.

Do we think the $5,540 Diesel motor premium is legit or will that come down in time? When using a fuel calculator, it would take over 7 years to recoup that cost compared to the 5.3!
You couldn't GIVE me the diesel engine. Go with gasoline.

I've got a 2017 Denali HD 3/4 ton with the 6.6 duramax. The absolutely best pickup I've owned in my 75 years (60 years of driving) ( 40 years of buying new pickups). Hands down the best. 750 mile range on a tank, 20 to 22 mpg all day long witn no trailer. The quietest Lexus type ride. Can ride all day long with cruise on and it will never have to down shift going up hills with the 910 ft lbs of torque. Hey and the OEM tires lasted 56,000 miles and the OEM batteries lasted 7 years. On top of all that, this baby is worth real close to what I paid for it. Try one before you criticize.

Go to this link and you can see what is allowed and not allowed on specific models with the diesel its far from straight forward. When you get it figured out navigate to the Chevrolet Tahoe section and you will find out you don't have it figured out. The link is for the US builds as most on here are from the US.
