Have confidence. 8 years ago I tore into my first automatic transmission, a turbo 350. Picked up a manual on rebuilding it to take some serious horsepower. Took my time, went page by page. A lot of it doesn't make sense on how it works, so when you put it into service and it works perfect....priceless.
@NickTransmissions picking your brain just a bit. I've been reading a lot about stepped cut rings being inferior to solid Teflon rings. I'm torn between picking up a stepped cut set and trying out one of the lower cost optioned sizing kits and seeing how it goes. Would the quality of those sizing kits be bad enough to warrant just getting a stepped cut set? Also, is that wave on the splines of the indicative of some other damage I should specifically look for? I didn't see any waving on the planetaries but am definitely curious.
