Can someone point me in the right direction as to what component(s) on the board are causing my DIC display to be noticebly dimmer than my PRND123 display? Normally it's the other way around from what I understand

Isn't it just the solder needs to be reflowed? I've read the solder cracking is what causes the displays to be dim.

I did all the pins for the display last night and no difference. Maybe I should just run thru the entire board and if it's still dim then could maybe be the chip for that screen?

Ok. I'll get back on track to the thread topic now. I'm not sure how many guys there are wanting the magical adapter to plug a 03-06 cluster into a 00-02 truck (supposedly there is a working model, maybe it's just a bs rumor), but I just may have something to make you forget all about wanting to swap clusters at all. Pretty sweet. Also makes me wonder (yet again) why GM designed some of this stuff the way they did. Oh wait, duh, money

I wanted to share my latest DIY creation with everyone! I got tired of seeing the 03-06 clusters getting the special treatment in my search to mod my '02 cluster. So, I decided to figure it out and custom mod it by myself! I bought an '02 Escalade cluster to do this: I custom engineered LEDs under the needles and used RGBW strips for backlighting. I used oem overlay but removed blue paint from backside and covered the km/h speed scale. Let me know what you think!View attachment 383176View attachment 383177View attachment 383178View attachment 383179
are you going to do a write up on how to accomplish this amazing upgrade?
