    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

This is interesting. The shop where I took mine insisted that it held pressure, but I never saw it myself, nor did I ask them if they tested it like you did. I do seem to recall that 58 number though actually, so I wonder if they stopped there. They also just had the truck for 4 days and...

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

Went out and started it again after letting it sit for 3 hours, but did not do the double cycle. Long crank. I'll do the double cycle from here out. Just really smelling like the fuel pump still to me... Although I can't completely understand why the behavior changed.

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

I disconnected for 15 minutes this morning. Oops. Either way, this morning started good. A little light on retry (thought it might stall) but didn't and started quick each time. Took it for about a 20 minute drive afterward. Ran fine - running has been good, just starting is an issue. So you...

    sorry. double post.

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

Should I do something like try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes? Would that "reset" the ECM and make it relearn or something? I'm just SO frustrated with this. :(

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

Yes, it's been driven a couple of hundred miles since the vin was programmed.

Need to replace bulbs inside and out...recommendations?

Just thought I'd post back here. I got the instrument panel bulbs from this guy on ebay. They are NOT polarized so I didn't have to do any of that "turn it 180 degrees if it doesn't work" stuff. And he actually mixed the colors for me - this is what my daughter chose and I gotta admit, it does...

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

My daughter has been ill so the truck hasn't been driven much. But now that we have a bit of a sample, the current issue is that almost every first start - cold or hot, is a long one. Not quite like before in that it typically will start. But you have to hold the key and crank it for a while...

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

After my warmup spin (ran a mile up and down the freeway, drove it about 10 minutes), I let it sit for an hour and went to start it. Long crank - not the full on "won't start" scenario but definitely longer than it should be. But it started and ran. So then I went out to lunch with my wife and...

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

Just finished getting it reprogrammed (for $140 via someone I found). Runs better. Now we see if it addressed the original issue.

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

Yeah, the money grubbing owner that replied said this: "While there is a possibility that we received a PCM that was previously installed and programmed on another vehicle, I don't think that it is this case. The reason being is when we talked to the company that programs the vehicles for us...

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

Hmm. That's an interesting thought on the voltage drop out being still a symptom and not the disease and one I thought myself. No idea how valid that is. And, they pressure tested it and it was fine. I'm not going to try any upgrades, I just want this programmed to my correct VIN and see where...

    New ECM - wrong VIN

Honestly, I'm guessing the tech thought the front office ordered it programmed to the truck and then didn't double check. He was trying to get it done so my daughter would have a the car for the weekend. So yeah I'm disappointed cause it's lacking a little due diligence. But they've been...

    New ECM - wrong VIN

First thing Monday. No way I'm driving around with it programmed to the wrong engine size any longer than I have to

    New ECM - wrong VIN

Well it's been programmed... To a 97 Sierra with a 305! Im guessing that whoever the shop got it from sold them a return that hadn't been cleared out.

    New ECM - wrong VIN

It looks very clean...maybe a return to wherever they bought it from? I don't think the shop is scamming but I am a little disappointed in the shop, with that sticker there and all...

    New ECM - wrong VIN

So after a whole bunch of diagnostic work, the shop I took my truck to told me I needed a new ECM. That whole saga is in another thread and the jury is still out on whether it solved my problem. However, what I noticed, via DashCommand, is that the new ECM, which is a reman supposedly, has the...

Dumb question - when are the side marker lights supposed to be on?

And...they're working now. No clue what changed, other than I had some other work done (unrelated).

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

So...the shop I took it to said the ECM is dropping the signal to the fuel pump. He showed me where he had his scan tool hooked up and monitored the signal and the fuel pump signal from the ECM drops out when I have the hard start issue. Two things...one - I do trust this guy. Plus he showed me...

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

I don't drive it enough to be able to say to be honest. And I'm ecstatic I got my daughter to do the first cycle!

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

Still monitoring and the scenario is consistent thus far. Cold, starts right up. Warmed up and sits for a bit, hard start. Second try works.

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

I don't think that would explain the one second stall, which I also get, that jc98ss explained and detailed a few posts above does it? Also I don't need to floor it - the second attempt works perfectly.

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

@jc98ss (or anyone paying attention to this thread...) Does this scenario fit the above? This morning, after sitting all night, no issue starting. After sitting for almost 8 hours, again starts right up with no issue. 20 minute drive and then sits for a half hour until attempting to start - hard...

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

That's interesting. I have to monitor that now to see if it does it ever completely cold vs having been warm. Today it did it after sitting for just under 2 hours after it was warmed up.

    Fuel Pump Relay issue...maybe?

The more I think about it the more I want to fix the fuel pump. Although I think you may have to drop the gas tank to do it - not something I can do myself and $$$. It's literally less than 5 years since I had it replaced but who knows what kind of garbage they put in there. In the other forum...
