Im thinking of swapping to E-Fans but before i do, i have a question.
How do they cool compare to the HD clutch fan? About the only thing i ever tow is a 5K trailer hauling quads.
Reason im asking is my truck runs on the hot side 210 ish and i found my fan clutch is bad so it needs to be...
And it's not done yet!
The subwoofer will be here tomorrow. Not sure how i will get power to it yet but ill figure something out.
The rear 6x9's i will mount to the rear cargo barn doors in some 6x9 speaker boxes.
The inside plastic trim parts will not be strong enough to hold them for long...
So i have had this truck 3 or 4 weeks now i notice a slight problem with the idle. It's always smooth
When cold and first start it does not go over 1k rpm (maybe normal i dunno)
Once warm it idles at 550rpm but after running maybe 20 minutes or so the idle is up to 700rpm and it seems to take...
Here it is all back together but not complete.
I will need to take the door panels off and put the inner plastic covering back on. Wanted to give it a few days for the new stuff to settle in.
After playing with it about 20 minutes i think it sounds pretty good with only two front door speakers...
Fixed one of the most irritating thing about GMT800's to me today.
Showing red when unlocked. It just seems backward to me to show red unlocked and nothing locked.
Now it shows red locked and nothing unlocked.
@adriver
See this is where pictures are sometimes misleading. The picture certainly looks as you describe but, Bad angle from the camera perspective.
The fact is, that rub mark you see was there before i started from a piece of foam rubbing. I just put the power wire in friday and have not even...
I still need to clean the wiring up at the amp but this is where im leaving off for today.
Just amazing how long it's taking. So much little fiddly sh*t makes it take forever.
I did manage to get the power/grounds hooked up to the amp and the wires ran to it from the HU.
Glad to say the front speakers sound good but i will definitely need to adjust the sound.
Went to install the rear speakers and that turned into a big bummer.
I thought i could fit some 6x9's in but there is no real way to do it and keep it under the grill on the door panel. There is a window motor in the way.
So i need a different plan.
I have the driver's door about ready to go back together but was getting late so here is where i left off for the night.
Now that i have most of the little fiddly sh*it figured out the other 3 doors should go faster i hope!
Started installing the speakers and figuring out wiring today.
Only place i could figure out a place for the power to go through the firewall is a little sketchy. There is maybe a 1/4in space between the wire and inner steering shaft. I have some Teflon anti chafe tape i think i better wrap the...
My HVAC was working fine when i first got the truck. I don't remember why but i had the battery unhooked for for a little bit one day a week or two ago.
I did not know about turning off everything HVAC related off, So it was set where it was when i unhooked the battery.
A few days ago i noticed...
My Suburban has rear heat/ac. The front works fine but the rear however does not.
If i turn the rear on it will only blow cold air unless i turn it all the way to hot then it blows hot.
It will not self adjust like the front.
If i turn the rear on full auto it will only blow on high speed cold...
They are sold out on Amazon so i got it from the EBay Atoto store.
I had a S8 Premium that i sold with the last Suburban and i really liked that radio. Figured this one would be just a little better.
The sim card slot is for 4G cellular.

Got my DD HU installed Sunday. Atoto S8 Ultra. Hope next weekend ill have time to put in a new amp, Speakers and a under seat sub. Also need to get the backup camera installed.
In my experience the Rancho shocks were much stiffer and rode rough also had rust forming on them less than a year old.
Bilstein 4600 were stock on Z71 trucks, On a truck with 2in lift the 5100's are the recommended shock by Bilstein
