Trans Leaking out the front. 04 Yukon XL

I got my truck back last Friday, and drive it all weekend. All seems well now with the trans!

Trans Leaking out the front. 04 Yukon XL

I had the truck towed to a trans shop yesterday. They are putting in a rebuilt trans, with an upgraded 3/4 shift pack, a hardened shell, and I'm having them do a rear main seal. Total is $1400 with a 2 year warranty. The place get great yelp reviews. They said it should be done on Friday...

Trans Leaking out the front. 04 Yukon XL

I just got back from SEMA, and there is a HUGE puddle of trans fluid under my XL. Like the size of a trash can lid, and running... Its either leaking from between the bellhousing and the trans, or the pan. I assume its the front seal, or converter. Also, Ive noticed lately that when it...

2 Sets of Rear AC Controls

So, Ya, Im an idiot.... I went to get lunch just now, and I realized on the rear ac controls by the windshield, there is a position that says AUX. My brain always took that as AUTO, even though there is a AUTO location right under it. When I turn the knob to AUX, the controls in the center...

2 Sets of Rear AC Controls

Here is what my 04 Yukon XL SLT has. I do think someone swapped the center console rear controls at some point...

2 Sets of Rear AC Controls

From reading some other threads lately, it seems my truck has something odd going on. Its an 04 Yukon XL with NO sunroof and BOSE. I have rear AC controls in the headliner by the windshield. I also have rear ac controls in the center console where the rear radio control is. Im thinking...

    4th Row the Right Way

Here are some random pics that I took when I was testing how the seat would be if it was just setting on the floor. From these pics its clear that rear facing won't work...

    4th Row the Right Way

Ya, Sawsall is what I meant. Autocorrect changed it. The yard I was at doesn't allow grinders, so all I could use was a sawzall and a hole saw to get started. I was so frustrated at the yard that I didn't get pics.... Do you have any pics or a thread here? I must have missed it....

    4th Row the Right Way

UPDATE: So Yesterday I went and did my best to cut the floor out of a Suburban. The back and sides cut out fine, but when I got to the front part of the floor, where it drops down into the footwells, I ran into trouble. There are at least 3-4 layers of steel there, and some of them are...

    4th Row the Right Way

Scotty boy, I agree, but I already have 2 extra 3rd row benches. So I may as well get the mounts for a bench.

    4th Row the Right Way

I just realized that I should take this extra seat I have and see if it will clip into my XL, then I know what I need.....

    4th Row the Right Way

Thanks for all the replies! I absolutely agree with safety first. Thats why I am getting a donor floor to work from, and not just rigging something up. I have an extra 3rd row that I was going to put in my 61, but never did. How do I tell if its from a Tahoe or Suburban? I will get pics....

    4th Row the Right Way

Im not sure if I will do frontwards or backwards. Im leaning towards forwards since, but I will have to play with the extra seat to see what works better. I have a feeling that forwards will have better leg room, but obviously backwards will give easier access. It will only be small kids...

    4th Row the Right Way

I am going to do a 4th row in my 04 Yukon XL. Its 40% off day at the local yards on Monday, so I am going to go cut the rear floor out of another Yukon/Suburban/Tahoe. My question is if all the 00-06 trucks have the same 3rd row mounting setup. Im pretty sure they do, but wanted to verify...

    Disable air bags?

Is disconnecting the battery enough? Or is there something that holds a charge for a while that I need to be concerned with?
