    That's it - F this turd-burban.

I bought an 02 Yukon Denali with 167k miles on it in 2014 for $6500, did all of these same things to it and it's still going with 242k. I think the calipers/leaky bleeder valves just pushed me to the edge, and then when that check engine light came on, that was it, I popped. I have since come...

Minor update #2 - Took a look under the hood for any loose vacuum hoses or anything out of the ordinary and found this. That line with the 90 on it was just dangling and not connected. I reconnected and started to up. Check engine light is still on, I assume I need to erase/clear the codes in...

Minor update - scanned with an Actron Poclketsanner for the check engine light P0171 - Bank 1 System Too Lean. During the scan process, the scanner asked about ABS codes and then promoted me to input year/make/model, then it gave me two choices, a series of numbers and letters - I didn't write...

I burped the pins with a lil pick too - will recheck and re-burb em. The guy ain't gonna do shit - I can guarantee that. This is South Florida and the quality of used vehicles is all over the place, and I would say more bad than good.

Poor choice of words on my part. Brand new calipers/rotors/hoses/pads and I greased the shit outta the guide pins, pistons etc.

I knew what I was getting into with it's age, but never even considered things like a new drive shaft as part of the scenario or vapor canister vent (problems filling gas tank too). I knew I would be in for brakes/rotors/cal, suspension, belts, and basics. Rear main and fuel pump eventually...

No loss of pedal pressure. Maybe I'm just trippin on the heat, but...the front wheels are way hotter than rear, and front right is hotter than front left. Just seems really weird, I'm gonna feel my Yukon wheels after a drive and see if it's similar.

Checked for drag was smooth. Didn't do a full - proper bedding, did a series of 35/40 to zero mixed with normal driving never did any really aggressive stopping. What's got me thinking is the old pads on the passenger side were worn down way more than the drivers. And on drivers side inner pad...

So... I should have known better. I looked at this one after looking at so many others. All the others were oily as hell underneath, main rears on most gone, ticks, pings, bad water pumps, low oil pressure, beat ass interiors, some with motor swaps that were never mentioned till I looked at...

I think I'm throwing the towel in on this one. 2011 Suburban 1500 LT 154K miles. Just bought this last month, and have spent the last few weeks fixing/replacing things including: New rotors/calipers/pads/hoses all the way around New Inner tie rods New Outer tie rods New Stabilizer links New...

    Brand new rotors have grooves??

put in the Doprman replacement bleeder valve and still having a seep. I have to stick the corner of a paper towel into the space between threads on the bottom of the bleeder and keeps coming back wet. WTF - I'm so annoyed. if I pull this caliper and get a replacement., whats to say the...

    Brand new rotors have grooves??

Ahh sealant, no locker...my bad. I'm steaming over here. As I said before, nothing comes correct anymore This is the bleeder I took out of the passenger side caliper (havet installed yet), metal in the hole and threads split, burr on bottom surface next to "cone" ( it's not even a cone. Guy at...

    Brand new rotors have grooves??

I'm wondering why the sell new bleeder valves with red thread locker on them? I'm thinking about trying them out, but again most sources say not to use it. Teflon degrades in brake fluid and can clog lines, I assume if anything the thread locker would dissolve and not likely clog anything? What...

    Brand new rotors have grooves??

The Bleeder valve will not stop weeping no matter how tight I make it?? It is an incredibly minor seep around the threads, I have to stick the corner of a paper towel into the threads to see any wetness. I am reading that using thread locker or Teflon is not a good idea; however, I also see...

    Brand new rotors have grooves??

Check this BS out - I went to three different Oreilly's and had them pull every front left caliper they had on the shelves. Everyone was packaged with the standard/generic pad clips (no spring/prong to push pads away from the rotor). Not a single one would take the stock-style clips with prongs...

    Brand new rotors have grooves??

Wtf! The brake pad clips have like springs in them to push the pads away from the rotor. I picked up some oreilly calipers, passenger side has the stock style clips drivers side doesn't, has reg clips w/ no springs. And the spring style clips won't fit the O'Reilly driver side bracket...ugh

    Brand new rotors have grooves??

Just unboxed some raybestos front rotors and one of them has these grooves in them. I already installed it and now wondering if this is gonna be a problem.

2011 Suburban - Front end shakes

Swung by the drive shaft shop, they couldn't get me in today, dropping off Monday. He mentioned potentially replacing the aluminum shaft with a steel shaft. Has anyone done this? Are there any inherent issues? I was reading about the class action for "Chevy shake" and one of the solutions was to...

2011 Suburban - Front end shakes

I did the hubs and front suspension on my 02 Yukon Denali, and on my charger. But I'm tired... So I said f it and had the mechanic do it. Put the Timken hubs and ac Delco inners/outers. I'm gonna slap new front rotors/calipers/hoses/pads this weekend and take it to a drive shaft shop next week...

2011 Suburban - Front end shakes

UPDATE - So I took it to the old school mechanic to give a proper once over. He determined that the left wheel bearing and the right inner tie rod are in fact bad. He also says that the drive shaft is bent and should be replaced. He quoted me on just the one-wheel bearing, tie rod, and drive...

I will call around. I actually posted this update in the "wrong" thread as I have another one in a different section, where I posted this image of the drive shaft.

2011 Suburban - Front end shakes

UPDATE: Jacked up the front - front right tire moves side to side and the front left moves side to side and a lil up and down. I know the tie rod ends are bad, can see them split and can roll them. Seems like the wheel bearings are probably shot too. The plan is to take it to a more thorough...

It's RWD. Just to be clear, you are saying not to use ACDelco tie rod replacements?
