When I get a chance I will try some more bleeding and then check out and adjust if necessary the rear drums and then go from there.

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Here is a pic of all my codes just to save me trips out to the car while I'm supposed to be working. The proportioning valve looks like another possibility and not something I want to think about having to replace.

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

That's a negative on the z codes. More bleeding may be the answer I don't think we got much bled out since each press of the pedal was barely getting anything out for the rears.

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Yeah they were a pain in my ass for sure. I may actually have the police package since when I had to get the larger 11" drums from Autozone they were listed under the police package. When I get some time I will check the back again and try some more bleeding.

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Yeah I would assume that. But there shouldn't be differences in the Tahoe/Yukon's MC right? Just want to be sure that its the same MC for all Yukons or Tahoes regardless of options sine they all have basically the same drive-train setup. Just want to eliminate that I didn't get the wrong MC...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

I know that the wheel cylinders are the correct size since I had a great time running back and forth to the store having the buy different parts and getting stuck with shitty duralast shoes. Mine has the 11'' drums. Funny thing the 11'' uses the smaller wheel cylinders. Is there any...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Humm. Ok I didn't do that, basically just got it to barely grab and then slid it on. Sounds like it might be worth giving the rears a check. So sounds like what I need to do is put her in neutral so i can get the axle to spin, put the drum on with two nuts and spin it and adjust until I get some...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Not sure what you mean exactly by the 2 nut. I just adjusted until it slightly grabbed the drum and that was that. As far as taking it to a shop it looks like that's what I may have to do. I just hate the idea of ass hats working on any of my vehicles. Also wanted to rule something else...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

switch clip was not included*** Pretty sure the rears are good, adjusted them till where they barely catch the drum when I put them on- unless there is something I am missing. I suppose the brakes never worked as good after I did the pads and shoes but I assumed that had something to do...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

OK guys so I replaced the brake switch fairly easily. Also the new clip went on easy enough. The AC Delco switch I ordered did not come with the switch but as SLC said the doorman kit works well comes with both the newer and older style switch clips as well a plastic one. Mark I did find a few...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Hey guys so I got job done..well some what. Got the booster and mc replaced. Who ever had and worked on the car last had messed with the booster before and the brake switch clip was missing and was only on with a rubber boot thing. Went to the local oriley and the ass-hats working there could...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Thanks Mark really appreciate the info. I think I will just print out your posts and use them as a guide. I will be doing the job tomorrow so I can let you all know how it goes. Yeah I didn't like the sound of the Delco MC so I just went with the Cardone, cheaper anyway.

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Thanks for the advice Mark, it will come in handy- looks like I will likely start it next weekend when I get more time. Ill order the parts today and then stop by a parts store on the way home from work to get that kit. What are your guys' thoughts on a one person brake bleeder? I have...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

ok I think im going to go with a cardone remanufactured booster $89 on amazon and a new cardone master cylinder $35. There is an AC delco (made by durrastop) for $54 but I don't think it will make much difference. Any thoughts guys? Also for the brake switch clip is it just one of those c...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Thanks again for the advice. My wife borrowed her moms car and ive been taking her Camry to work so it will wait till this weekend or maybe next if I need to order anything. This hydro-boost upgrade does sound tempting but it sounds like it would take more time then I probably want to spend on...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Alright guys thanks for the advice, looks like worst case scenario. I'm going to try replacing the vac line and the valve too just for the slight chance that it fixes it, and if it doesn't at least I would have probably replaced it when I changed out the booster anyway... it is a 15 yr old hose...

99 Yukon brake pedal becomes hard to press when braking suddenly. Power assist prob?

Hello guys I've got what could be a bit of a serious issue with my 1999 GMC Yukon (especially if my wife is driving). Recently I've noticed that when stopping, mainly when suddenly braking or coming to a quick hard stop (because people cant drive and like to pull out in front of you and then go...

1999 GMC Yukon Air suspension / rear Trailer auto leveler problems

well did it today took way way longer than it should have. Ended up having a ton of crap at the bottom of the tank so me and my brother had to come up with some creative methods of removing it. Basically turning the tank upside down and tipping it back and forth to get all the gas to slosh out...

Well guys finally got that travel trailer. Not the prettiest but it'll do. Its an 18ft 1967 Nomad. It needs some work but it beats spending 5k for something that's only from the 90s hope this pic turns out- first time posting a pic in a post.

1999 GMC Yukon Air suspension / rear Trailer auto leveler problems

Cool just placed the order. I just replaced the fuel filter a few months ago. Is it necessary to do it again when you change the pump or is dose that just happen to be a good time to change it?
