I would def keep the VVT the torque is amazing thanks to it.
I’m going to go with CircleD triple disk. I still need to figure out which one to go with though. My tuner said he’ll install it and retune for me, so I think I’m just going to ask him what he recommends.
I’ve put close to 15k on...
Sorry it’s been awhile since I posted and I still need to work on a build thread.
It’s amazing to drive and I drive it about 80miles everyday. Mainly highway but it’s perfect in the city as well.
It idles great.
My only issue which is my fault for not buying it already is the stock converter...
I think I figured it out but I don't have the truck to confirm. When I was priming the engine for oil I was looking for the fuel pump relay and or fuse, I guess with the 6.2L the book and print out are fully meant for it. The Fuel Pump relay is in the back by the spare tire.
Anyways while...
The tuner said he has the truck running great with just a street tune and hasn't put it on the dyno yet but will tomorrow morning.
He told me without digging into it to much (opening up the harness) he wasn't able to talk to it with his computer. So I be saving that for myself as I'll be able...
No such thing as a silly question, but yes I did.
It’s at the tuner now. It’s been there since 8am and I made him aware of it, so far no phone call so I’m hoping I’m good.
Well I’ve looked abs and find anything without either probing wires or ripping into the harness.
I did forget to mention I had the battery disconnected since November to prevent the battery from dying. Something is telling me it has something to do with that.
I wish my truck was garaged but I...
I wish I was
Just my luck not allowed to be that easy. I wish I would’ve figured this out sooner but it is what it is.
The fuse box is on the the driverside and so is the abs module.
To the best of my knowledge I get touch or do anything to that harness.
I just looked at the fuse and it’s...
I have the truck up on a trailer ready for a Tune tomorrow.
Prior to putting it on the truck I checked codes and I’m getting a U0121 among others that are expected.
Is the U0121 (brake and abs lights on) normal after these mods? Putting it on the trailer I could tell there was something wrong...
I put the TSP headers, Y pipe and Corsa exhaust on last night only to find out the Flange that's suppose to connect the Y pipe to the Flex pipe on the exhaust doesn't fit. It's only 3" where as the factory and Corsa is 3.5". I called TSP and they told me this is because the Y pipe is meant for a...
Yep same lifters are used in both. Personally if I were in the market I would do diesel for power, towing, fuel economy (once tune and deleted). But if you want to stick to gas go with the 6.2L and then either do a AFM/DOD hardware delete or buy a AFM/DOD disabler and prevent it from coming out...
I forgot you said you didn't get notification for private messages. I sent you my email address in your PM
I had to reschedule the DYNO because I couldn't finish the project, I would've had it done this weekend but it rained Saturday and I lost a whole day. I wasn't able to get the exhaust on...
That makes me feel more comfortable now. I'll take it for a drive tomorrow hopefully and just cruise.
I didn’t realize they would need more info then the card. Can you please send me that info?
Thank you
Thank you as always for your wealth of knowledge.
I didn't even think on how the trans reacts to the engine, it completely makes sense. I may just end up towing it but I'm going to order one of those ODB AFM disablers to test the engine and my work for leaks.
I have a list of mods and the TSP...
I have an appointment for a Dyno tune on Monday the 14th but I want to fire it up this weekend to ensure I have no leaks and everything is working correctly.
Is there any harm in using the AFM disabler until it gets tuned?
The cats are deleted too, will this cause any issues like Low power mode?
So I still didn’t have any luck with the lock tool in the 5456 kit and after convincing TSP to send me the 5460 I can now say the cam phaser is complete.
If you look at the picture you might be able to tell the difference between the two lol. The phaser block appeared to be exactly the same.
Yep I have a bench vise but was having bad luck getting the lock to not pop out when I release my tension from the wrench.
I watched a couple of videos and the locks seem to sit right in place with know issue.
I will try it again tomorrow and hope for the best.
I appreciate you doing some research on this for me. It is quite confusing and I was concerned I'm going to mess something up because of a timing issue. I will run the 5456 now if only I can get the tool to lock in place. It seems like the way it's cut isn't deep enough to go past the phaser and...
I called TSP this morning and the rep I spoke to is insistent that the 5456 will work because of their cam. I tried to explain to that Comp Cams paper work says it's for 07-08 engines but he was tried to ensure me it'll work, I then told him that Comp Cam has the 5460 that says it's meant for...
