Thought it might be the wires so I replaced the autolites with ac delcos and replaced the NGK's with ac delcos and just took it for a drive and #2 came up. The NGK that I had put in in September in Avon, IN was brown. The new AC delco that i put in last week was brown on the bottom. Both...
still misfire
OK Installed new AC Delco Cap and rotor. Pulled the throttle body off and checked #2 injector "seemed " tight, cleaned throttle body and reinstalled with new gasket. still #2 misfire. Took #2 wire off and put #1 wire on put #2 wire on #1 cylinder still a misfire. #2 cylinder wire...
OK Sunlit. Checked the wire at the thermostat housing and it was tight and no frays. I loosened it and turned it as it was close to the thermostat. Took it for a drive and still missing. Stopped at a mechanic down the street and he put his computer on it and we took off and #2 cylinder misfire...
Spider replacement now pulling codes!
Ok It's a little warmer 16, so I went out and checked the cap and wires. Everything seems in place and in decent shape, so now i'm getting codes when I start besides the miss. PO102 and PO1351 maf and ignition control high voltage. Wasn't getting that...
Been gone for over a week. Havent had time to look at it at all. It's going to be 3 degrees for a high then next two days. No heater in the garage and really don't want a fire heater when dealing with fuel. Maybe over the weekend. Will check cap and rotor and connections. Not getting any...
Ok will do. My son also thinks maybe the oring around the metering valve on top my have rolled out as tight as it is or something to cause vacuum leak. I won't be able to look at it for a week. When I put the intake back on it seemed high centered on that fuel metering piece. It wasn't a great...
Yeah, after I put nozzle 4 in to 2 and pulled it out rechecked the others and all were good. I double checked as I can see that side from the butterfly on top of the intake. I was out of town when I had to replace the cap and rotor and had to get em at Advanced Auto. Don't recall the brand.
Ok #2 cylinder wire was loose on Dist cap. So that's done. Now still running like crap. Replaced intake gasket and new oring on the fuel meter. No other gaskets, that I could see. Do I have an air leak?
Cylinder 2 misfire
New Fuel spider ran fine last night now cylinder 2 misfire. Could this be from the injector not being in right. Don't smell fuel just getting cylinder misfire. Plugs, wires, coil, dist cap and rotor all replaced in September. :emotions122::emotions122::emotions122:
I pulled a major screw up. Put one injector spider in the wrong hole. Has any one done this? How do U get the new injectors out? The Delphi has a different design then the old one with the tabs to grab!! :emotions122:
New challange.
The ones at the front and back of the intake were the ones that leaked at the corners. So I just used hi temp loctite and it worked.
Another question. I'm sure no one with any mechanical ability has ever done this. I am putting the spider in and You guessed it I have...
Sorry Sunlit
Didn't mean to sound like I would forget the metal gaskets I was speaking only of using sealant on the front and back as I have used the rubber gaskets and they have leaked.
Thanks for that info. Might as well do it all while it's apart. I did get the gasket kit for the upper already so I can just get the lower or use sealant. That has worked as well in the past. Thanks for your help.
Ok, so I need to remove the fuel line bracket on top of the plenum. Those puppies are tight also. I removed it first then when that didn't work put the bracket and nuts back on. I replaced the wires, plugs, cap and rotor when I first bought the thing and they were all original, so I would guess...
Replacing the FPR on 99 Tahoe. Got all the bolts out and fuel lines undone. Fuel lines won't come loose. Any ideas would be appreciated. Do I need to take them loose from the top of the intake? Intake is loose, just won't move and I am not real sure about prying anywhere.
Thanks
Morning,
New to Forum.
Just bought a 99 Tahoe with 188K, 2nd owner. 1st owner drove it but that's about all. Had a recent snow storm and got my plow stuck (Ford). Pulled it with the Tahoe and while in 4x4 when pulling the front end would pop. Not sure if it's coming from the xfer case or...
