Do youI do much highway driving? When I tuned out the AFM I noticed slightly better mileage on back roads especially hills. Highway driving the AFM did better.
Has anyone reattached the factory side molding? I want to remove mine but if I don't like it I want to reinstall. What size tape did you use? I did a rough photoshop to see the outcome.
I picked up a 10x24 threaded rod at Lowes, cost about $2.25 for 3'. I pulled the ends off of the original rod, I had to twist slightly to break it loose then pull it off. I twisted the first one too much and the threaded rod didn't hold when I put it in, so I added a hose clamp for insurance...
Just an update on my experience.
I extended the sensor rods and it definitely made the ride softer (stock).
I put the front on jack stands and used the jack to raise and lower the hub to determine the amount of travel at different locations. I have a 1.5" level, which is actually a 13/16"...
I think its a general safety in case you bump into something. I've seen it on things that make me scratch my head. Its probably not a bad idea to disconnect, I believe it will help the computer adjust to the new air flow.
I have been curious as to how the sensors are affected by a front leveling kit. I tried finding info on how the auto level works, more than the concept. What does it use to determine what is level, does it use all four sensor relationships or just the reae? Currently I have a 1.5 leveling...
I had that code, it was the Purge Solenoid Valve. I also had to install a new hose that routed differently. I dont remember if the hose came with the solenoid valve or was separate.
A popular combination is to replace the stock muffler with a Borla or Magnaflow muffler and resonator delete. See here. I think most are on the 5.3s not a Denali.
Any luck on that steering pump replacement? I'm having the same squeal noise and I'm starting to think its the steering pump since everything else seems ok and I replaced the belt. The steering pump makes a clicking noise when turning it by hand.
Yeah, I had the dealer tell me it was the steering gear which it was not.
I never checked that bushing on my Tahoe, traded in so I no longer need to. This site references a TSB for similar issues as well.
Is it constant or at slow speeds? If it's at low speed and warm it's probably the boot, I believe there is a newer model number, dont remember what year they started using it.
I have a 2011 Suburban LTZ with the auto ride. If the Yukons are like the burbs I wouldn't go more than 1.5" or it will lean (or at least appear that way). I just have the spacers and zero issues with the autoride since its within the range of the sensor.
