Hello all I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe that's been sitting for over 2 years with leaks. Well long story short I got the Tahoe and stopped the leaks and the passenger floor pan had. Big rot hole and the drivers side pan rusted and has peeling chipping paint. So at the time already waiting 6 months...
Got a better look around the Tahoe today. Power washed as much loose rubber uncoat crap as I could and its just some surface rust and flaking in the rear where spare tire was. I removed the spare tire to work on rust a while ago and don't know when if ever I'll put it back and then some surface...
Hello I have a 2003 Tahoe. Been in service with a fire department and saw plenty of winters and salt. Due to that it has plenty of rust as well. Some minor rot and bubbling on panel below drivers door. But the frame and spare tire holder is pretty rusty. Lots of flaking and rust. No complete rot...
I know I'm stressing myself out over an exhaust for no reason but I just wanted to try and make sure I wasn't buying crap. I think I'm gonna go with Gibson dual extreme. Sounds good and looks good cheap for stainless duals too. Thanks for the suggestions though.
I would really rather find a nice cat back system to install myself to save money but I have only found the corsa that's expensive and the others such as the american thunder 50 series are to quiet for my liking and aluminized. Idk I just wish I could straight pipe it in ny. Lol
I was thinking...
How much did they charge? I kind of want to have high flow cats installed too but I don't know if I want to deal with tuning to prevent CELs just for cats.
I really want the super 10 series sound. Although I love the corsa sport wot sound I like how the super 10 or 40 sounds at idle and normal driving as well as wot. II can't find any cat back kits that are SS. how much would an exhaust shops charge to put in SS custom bent tubing for dual exit if...
I agree definitely got to get the problems fixed first. But I'm still gonna look into this while waiting. One other thing I know I should have a 3" y pipe but I see some long tube headers say 2 1/2 or different from y pipe. Can different lt headers fit with other y pipes as long as they are ment...
I would do long tubes but I got to get a high flow y pipe with cats and I unfortunately don't have the cash right now. I'm hoping over this winter I can get the money up.
I have some annoying news. Im sorry to keep changing my mind but I just found out my windshield on the tahoe is cracked as well as there's a bad leak from door and mirror seals still so I need new one s. I though I fixed it but there is still leaks. Plus now that it's been sitting I have a rear...
How much do you think and exhaust shop will charge for installing the cats and o2 bungs?
I don't have a welder right now so I couldn't do it at home. I did find a fee y pipes from dynatech and kooks but they are over 500 dollars alone. Can get kooks headers and high flow cat y pipe for around...
One more thing I almost never go wot into high rpms. I try my best stay below 3500rpms. I heard Shorty's would be fine for a lighter footed DD like me is this true?
Also what is the egr mount on some headers? I don't any egr tube on my factory headers.
I am really close to pulling the trigger on what you just gave me. It's an awesome idea. But I'm pretty scared of how much banging and pulling and trouble long tubes will be to get in. And I keep hearing once they are in they like to clang and hit stuff that's the only thing holding me back and...
Wow that's a good idea actually. What would happen to 02 sensors though? If I got an off road y pipe with no cats I couldn't screw the 02 sensors into pipe then they may fail me for that right? If there are y pipes I can install fake cats on with 02 sensor spots then I would love to do this.
I'm thinking I am most likely going to get the muffler I want in a cat back kit and have it installed for the extra hangers with the dual exit. I don't really mind drone because I have driven cars with a loud leaky exhaust and got used to it. Lol. But I do know nys has a bad habit of ticketing...
The muffler I'm interested in is the super 10 series. I can't find pipe bent for the cat back with this muffler though. Do you think I should just get the muffler and have the shop custom bend pipe for the dual exits? Or do you think they will overcharge.
I know it sounds dumb and counterproductive but I think I'm gonna get some shorties just for looks and being able to use factory pipe. Than that leaves money for better intake and hid headlights and more. And that's the other thing its so hard to trust these companies when they have so many...
So basically shorty headers are like shiny factory headers? That really makes me want the long tubes now.lol wish i could find the y pipe for long tube headers with cats cheap.
I was guessing the 15477 y pipe because of says the cats increase power and torque and has better flow.
Idk though and at this point after really thinking about what to do I may just hold off on headers unless shorties will fit the factory y pipe?
I just realized I would have to buy a tuner to for ecu with a high flow exhaust. I may just do cat back and leave everything else stock so I can start working on audio. If I could find a cheap high flow y pipe with cats then I would love to do it.
I keep finding nice long tubes I would love to install but with the catted intermediate pipe is killer expensive. :( I might have to just do a cat back and leave stock headers anyways. It sucks but I would rather put my money into making it look nice rather than have more power at this point...
Unfortunately unless I can find a y pipe with high flow cats for long tubes I may just do shorty so they fit the factory y pipes and do a cat back because I have to get this going before the snow falls here. How would shorties sound? At this point I'm looking for future proofing with...
