Exhaust fumes and sound coming from intake

The 2008s injectors are smaller compared to your 2010 regardless if it's a FlexFuel engine or not. The 2008 has higher compression as it uses flat top pistons and a single pattern camshaft. If this was my rig, I'd swap the 2010s injectors overs, well, the whole intake and throttle body too...

    Amp gauge

This is usually a sign that your battery is failing to maintain a charge and the alternator and computer are doing everything they can to keep you from getting stranded. How old is your battery? Has the truck been sitting and or making lots of short runs lately?

    New to me

Great looking 'burb and love the fishing rig. Love that green color! We used to surf fish a lot when the kids were little and my health allowed it. My wife enjoys driving on the beach so once a year or so we spend a few days in Daytona Beach so she can get her fill of it. I like it too but...

    wondering about tire noise

First of all, more tire wear in the center of the tread is indicative of low air pressure and or a mismatch between tire and wheel sizing. I have run 2 sets of KO2s in two different sizes on my trucks but not your size. They did get noisier as they aged and were so loud towards the end of...

    No indicator and limp mode

I have an '09 and those codes don't appear in the shop manual for it. The U0100 does show up in the shop manual for my 2013. It says that the first code is probably the offending module that can no longer communicate on the network. When I pull up that list, U0013 is not on it. When we...

    New to me

Welcome Barry from Florida! Did you modify any of the trucks in any way? Ever take them off-roading and such? How are the older ones holding up after 20 years and 300K miles?

First problem after one year on 2018 Yukon XL Denali

Yep, inspect the plugs and wires and wiring to the coil and look for injector leaks on #2. After that, time to look inside and see if the lifter is partially collapsed or if a valve spring broke.

Now at FIVE AC system failures in four weeks...

I'm weary, GM parts usually don't fail like that. My daughter had her girlfriend's mechanic boyfriend replace her cooling fan once. Upon installing the 3rd fan motor I was asked to come outside and have a look. The kid was shorting out each new fan by wiring them up wrong and of course...

    Oil Consumption

I looked at 1, 2 and 5. I think you have a blown head gasket on 5, it's washing the piston clean. I'm not well versed enough with LS engines to tell if those cracks are in the material or carbon build up or casting slag. There's a leakdown procedure that can tell you where the compression...

    Useless Information

Had business over in St. Petersburg and spent a few days over there. Took the southern route on the way back to minimize time in the big storm front that passed through and that worked. Truck is covered in sand, it's still piled up on the grill louvers, the opening to the tow hooks and of...

    Loving my E85 right now

Don't need the additives. Hard start in cold weather is normal with E85. It's not due to a problem with the fuel or your car, just the nature of the beast (E85). Mine will do it on the first remote start when it is in the 50s or colder but not the second. If yours performs worse, you might...

So what brand of parts are they using? Does not seem like GM OE parts or even ACDelco Professional/Gold.

    Useless Information

Between Vero Beach and Tampa here in Florida is a road called State Road 60 that joins the two towns together, about 3 hours apart. We find ourselves on this route regularly to pick up and deliver our grandson. Well, we met his mother on SR60 last night and a few hours later along the same...

    Oil catch cans freaking work

How much of that 3,400 miles was above 3500 rpms giddy ups? When my wife drive my truck, it uses oil. When I drive it, no oil of consequence is used up. I get 3 mpg or better than she does generally.

Do I have a stuck caliper?

A quick search shows 18H4204/193647738 for a rear disc brake caliper seal kit. The front piston seal kit has a different part number, for 2 pistons instead of one 179-2262/23276875 or 84828462 but the pistons themselves are the same as the one I posted above. If yours were mine, I'd be...

    Transmission Swap

Yes it does. Lot of life left in that truck if taken care of. Can you get the same thing for $5K, course not. Don't know about which codes are compatible, I'm always of mind to rebuild and not replace whenever possible. The transmission in those trucks is pretty stout, it's their torque...

    Short block purchase

I would find out why #8 is misfiring. Proper diagnostics will reveal that. I doubt you need a whole new motor.

    TPMS Sensors

Break the bead on the wheel and have a look. If they are original and about 5 years old, that's 1-2 years from being dead in the south.

GM Tech2 is a versatile diagnostic scanner

My Tech-2 saw near daily use for 5 or six years and eventually replaced everything but the Tech-2 itself. Stuff wears out. I read reviews on Amazon from GM dealerships and bought what they used. Some of the connectors I fixed with new metal bent to shape or customized a screw to hold them...

P0430 code and coolant temp sensor

A P0430 is almost always a bad cat unless there is a large exhaust leak on that side or the O2 sensor itself has not been tightened all the way. Very rarely is it anything else but stranger things have happened.

    TPMS Sensors

Maybe but probably not. Your system was designed to use sensors on the 315mhz frequency and the 2019 uses that and 433 mhz as standard. You can try to pair them up with your truck but will probably have to buy new ones.
