I agree 100% if you have a rust free platform to start with. Put in GM CERTA components and you have another 3yrs/100k on the most important part of the vehicle.

I plan to do the same thing to my 2005. When it needs the engine, I will do it. Transmission, I will do it. You can see in my Build Thread, how much I have replaced that works with the future new components.

it does sound like a lot. if he spent some time here it could have saved him a lot. probably just needed a afm delete cam swap and a upgraded torque converter to get what he wanted
