    Suspension Help

Check the rubber bellows on the rear shocks and see if they’re firm and thus inflated, after driving. Another way to check is after the truck has sat overnight or all day, start it up and walk to the driver side rear and listen for the compressor to come on and look carefully at the fender to...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

50% is what I plan on doing. Have you done darker on the windshield?

    Suspension Help

If you were lowering it, I could be more help. I don’t have any experience with lifting these trucks. With that said, I do know the rear ride height sensors will need to be lengthened if you lift it and you want to keep the compressor, stock type rear shocks and self leveling or else the...

What did you do to your NNBS GMT900 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I’m torn on the clears- not just those but all of them. . On one hand I think they look sweet but on the other hand I think they look like something’s missing.

The whole thing. I don’t drive that truck at night much, if at all.

I’m thinking of doing the windshield on my Silverado this year. Ever had one done?

What did you do to your NBS GMT800 Tahoe/Yukon Today?

I have flex fuel injectors off an 8.1L on The Beast, enough for a blower until I wanted to pulley down. But that would also require duel fuel pumps etc etc etc so I’m good. I’ll just push em to the limits! :happy107:

    Rear main Seal

I would use a metal straight edge to line that up, like the metal ruler on a t-square, to simulate the trans being there. Maybe just check, I think it looks fine but it’s hard to tell. And those gaps right where the cover meets the block- that’s where the RTV goes when you install the pan...

    Rear main Seal

I’m not sure about that. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I know you’re going to throw a bunch of codes which can be cleared once the transmission is reconnected but I have no experience with the 4l80. It will not start without the neutral safety switch telling the ECM it’s in neutral or...

    Rear main Seal

You can do it without the trans installed, just make sure the oil pan is flush with the back of the block. Disregard the part about snugging the transmission to oil pan bolts, but be sure to flush the pan to the block at the rear.

    Chip Retrofit Lawsuit?

I just heard Samsung is cutting chip production in order to raise chip prices. It will take forever for GM to get all the work done, and of course they’re going to put the chips into the cars in production right now so they don’t inconvenience twice as many people which would happen if they were...

    Rear main Seal

Alldatadiy does show torque specs , you might not be using it right. Every torque spec is listed under “specifications” then look under “ mechanical specifications”. This is on the right hand side on the main page. As for the RTV, it goes at the 4 locations called for in the instructions. For...

    Low oil? ‘14 Tahoe 166k

The hash marks are the low to full level. You’re right near full, just fine. I wouldn’t go more than 4-5 k between oil changes. :happy107:

2013 Tahoe internet dash trim question ..

I’ve repainted 3 dashes, one was a color change from light to black. Even with 3-4 light coats I can’t tell any difference in grain. You just have to spray each coat lightly. Scotchbrite pads are great when used with something like denatured alcohol to clean and scuff the surface. Then a...

Yeah those didn’t look like factory bolts to me. That was added by somebody. Make sure to seal the holes so you don’t get water through there where it will start rusting the floor or getting the carpet wet.

    Rear main Seal

There should be no leaking if you install the oil pan gasket correctly. It’s critical that it’s done like the service manual states. If you’re just installing it without following the correct procedure it will leak. There’s a specific bolt tightening sequence as well as the dabs of RTV at the 4...

    Rear main Seal

No tool needed for the rear cover with the seal already installed in it afaik but there is a specific install procedure for the rear cover that needs to be followed. I suggest paying for a subscription to alldatadiy so you have access to the service manual. You want to make sure you do this...

    Rear main Seal

The rear cover has a gasket that can leak for sure. I replace the rear cover and rear main seal as one unit when I have done this. Never heard of the bolts coming loose but I’m sure it’s possible if the proper torque and application of locktite isn’t followed.

Like others stated in this thread, you can remove the cover. There’s an SRS module under it that you don’t want to mess with except to possibly move it a little if the wiring harness allows it and it’s absolutely necessary. You should have enough clearance if you remove the cover.

    Differential Cover Gasket/Sealer?

They don’t make one for the oil pan for our trucks because they don’t make oil pan gaskets period. Their tag line is “ The worlds best transmission and differential gasket” and that’s all they make unfortunately. The RTV is a design feature of GM because there’s a small gap at each of those...

    Differential Cover Gasket/Sealer?

I use Lubelocker for any gasket they make. I wish they offered more but so far I have the trans pan and diff covers. They’re easy to use and look like they’ll last about forever. No leaks.

Uh Ohh... Rear wheel bearings replacement

Did you remove the sensor when you installed the tone ring? There might just be crud on top of the sensor too if you didn’t remove it and clean it. Sometimes it’s just metal filings or something on the sensor head that keeps it from working.
