Make sure you know absolutely what you’re doing with HPT if you go that route. There’s plenty of people that have destroyed both transmissions as well as engines by tuning them. One bad mistake and it’s over, all it takes is a couple “small” changes in the tune.
Yeah I’m not interested in that much power for a daily. I have a hard enough time keeping fuel in the tank as it is. Do a build thread on it when you do, there’s only a few 1000 hp SUV’s here.
You’re gonna make the 950-2000 hp that system is designed for? Fir me, I’d spend some of that money where needed- bigger injectors. Besides a bigger pump, I’d need to pull the blower to install bigger injectors since Whipple doesn’t let you do that without pulling it and that’s a real PIA. And...
I have yet to see an android unit get great reviews, it seems it’s always “ it’s close but needs improvement “. I only see cheap Chinese no-name companies making them too. It seems if android was a good way to go for car stereo the major players like Pioneer and the others would embrace it and...
Oh yeah I forgot there’s a lower level Bose system too. I have the Lux system in my 02 but I went with a Pioneer HU and left the Bose Lux amp running all the speakers ( I replaced those with aftermarket) except the sub which has its own amp running off the sub out on the head unit. I call it a...
I don’t believe there is a line out signal to the Bose amp, at least not one that can be used without some sort of converter since Bose uses proprietary systems that don’t always work well with others, like aftermarket stuff does. Thus why most people swap out the head unit. Not only do you get...
Wha? Why would you ring me about ANYTHING related to MPG? I’m running a cam, blower, headers, etc and lowering was done to improve looks and handling. I get about 8 mpg depending on how I drive, I can get a 10mpg average if I stay off the pedal long enough but I don’t and I don’t care...
Replace the crappy-design fluid-filled motor mounts with solid rubber ones fron a Hummer H2 which are a solid RUBBER design like the previous generation or solid POLY from Atomic Fab (hard plastic design which is rougher at idle) and you can go ahead and install not only that tune and exhaust...
Don’t bend your ac lines. Read the entire thread to find out why his advice isn’t really advice. His were disconnected for one thing, so unless you want to discharge your Freon every time you change your plugs this is what NOT to do. There are a few of us that did offer useful advice here...
Multimeters are $15. If you’re going to work on electrical, you’re an idiot for not buying one before you come onto a public forum and sound like an idiot. Thats all I have to say. I really can’t believe anyone would want to help after reading that first post. Jeezus. Made me feel angry. Such...
I don’t know what happened thst I missed you getting a new puppy but that’s awesome! I do see that post was on Sept 6 which is my birthday so I have that excuse. So glad you guys decided to get a puppy, I bet thats a happy house this Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and your family and that...
Ya might have mentioned that in your first post, I doubt there’s many who have them disconnected and could use your “ helpful” thread. Maybe just delete this whole thing, the help was posted by those of us with some sense and is available all throughout this forum. Yes there IS room to get a...
Agreed, especially after replacing mine and seeing how easy it would be to create a leak. Those are one of those things I don’t bend out of my way. Finding out next summer that all my Freon is gone due to a slow leak would be a real bummer. Those plugs aren’t that hard, they sure do get a lot of...
Aha. I found a link to a link lol. It’s the easiest way for #8.

That’s a generic part available at your local auto parts store. They should have a rack with little parts like that, Dorman usually has racks with what they call “FixIt” parts. Take one of the ones you have with you to match up but bulbs are all the same size from car manufacturer to car...
I forgot about that. For what I pay them, I’ll never go without. Their service has always paid for itself every year. I locked my keys in the truck once last year, one lockout service paid for the year of AAA. Then I had a starter failure and that service call was a joke mostly because I...
Just in case you folks don’t realize it, spare tires are becoming a thing of the past. I believe about 1/3 of new cars don’t have them, or jacks. It might be part of the reason why it’s taking longer to get roadside assistance in your areas- nobody has a spare anymore.
AAA works for me, haven’t had a flat in years though. Nice jab @gooffeyguy but you don’t bother me. They’re at my truck in 20-30 minutes here, glad I don’t live where it’s so crowded that you have to wait so long. The left side of the country seems to get better service, out here in the wild...
Lol the resistor just gets the circuit within the minimum needed to fool the system, you’re still saving a picowatt of energy over a months time. I mean, that’s why I run leds in my vehicles. I hate it when my truck sends me a big bill for electricity. Same with the gas bill. :insane:
I owned a Dakota RT and I’ll never own another Dodge er Ram or whatever they want to call them now. The GM platforms of the same year have always been way ahead of Dodge or Fird imo. The Dodge Brothers wouldn't approve of what’s going on either since they won’t even use their name anymore. :p
Doesn’t look like you were here much but too bad you’re leaving. You have a truck with a couple problems so you dump the entire platform, I don’t get it. Hope you find your happy place because 5 years of trying to love your truck and failing doesn’t sound right to me.
